“Great place for a good value”
Reviewed January 5, 2013

We just stayed 1 night. The pub is very nice and cosy, with a nice decoration. Outside when we arrived at the Hotel it didn't seemed to be a 4 star hotel, plus the corridor and the stairs smelled like food. However once we saw the rooms (modern and clean) we knew we made the right choice, because we had a nice view to the Loch. It's just a great place to stay in.

My wife & I stayed at the Inverbeg on Hogmanay whilst visiting family in Helensburgh.
The hotel is small, clean & friendly & has a real mountain/outdoorsy feel to it.
It was a bit chaotic as they were preparing for the big night but the staff were very helpful & nothing was a problem for them.

Breakfast was very good & overall the service was excellent.

Thanks to Lisa who was such an exceptional, professional, helpful & friendly member of staff, she deserves a special mention.

After the excesses of the Festive Season, we decided to have a drive up Loch Lomond and went for lunch at the Inverbeg. Having been before we were not disappointed on our return. Although the menu was reduced due to it being the 2nd of January it took nothing away from the meal. The soup was excellent, the fish and chips which we both had was tender and melted into the mouth. The ice cream sundae finished the meal off nicely. Presentation and friendliness of staff enhanced the menu off perfectly. We look forward to our return visiting hopefully not in the too distant future.

My husband and I and his elderly parents have just returned from the 2 night new year package at the Inverbeg.
The food and the service from the mostly young staff were excellent and they remained bright and cheery despite the hotel being extremely busy both days.
Another plus was the room which was very clean and the bed which was very comfortable.
Only downsides were an argument with one of the managers over whether the evening meal on Ne'er Day was included in the package. As there was nothing in the brochure to indicate it wasn't - and it was mentioned in the programme - another manager eventually agreed to feed us and gave us a free round of drinks to compensate. Although we felt vindicated it would have been nicer if the argument hadn't happened at all. We did discuss this with another package party at the checkout desk who had eaten after us. They got the meal without any dispute but also thought it was included at the time of booking so it wasn't just us! There was also an outstanding balance on our bill despite the fact we had paid in full at the end of November, but this was speedily sorted out by staff.
The Ceilidh and entertainment was good but the bar a bit too busy for our disabled parents to be able to see anything.
All in all a very pleasant break and I would recommend the hotel to anyone, however if buying a package from them I would check exactly what you're getting (in writing if at all possible) to save having any disputes later.

Received a groupon voucher for an overnight stay for 2 with breakfast as a gift! Finding it extremely difficult to get anything booked, can't do it on the phone as apparently the only deal with bookings online!! Have sent an extremely high amount of emails without any satisfaction and still days later can't get anything booked, finally when they managed to give me 2 dates yesterday and emailing back within 30 minutes confirming that one if the dates were perfect I still heard nothing back so again emailed them back looking for confirmation so 24hrs later they then send a email saying that the date is actually booked!!! Beginning to think this is more hassle than it's actually worth b4 we have even been to the hotel!!! Just wondering if anyone else has had the same horrendous experience in trying to book??

My partner and I had a fantastic festive experience when we stayed at the Inn on the weekend before Christmas.

We booked the Ben Vane room in their additional beach house and were treated to a four-poster bed, sheltered balcony and incredible views of the cold, misty loch. Everything was very clean, organised, and we were particularly impressed by the stand alone bath in the big bathroom.

We also dined at the restaraunt, which is great if you're a whisky or fish connoisseur. We were the latter and had the priviledge of trying the haddock and sustainable pollok. I'm not really a pollok fan but the price was right so we had a great time.

If I had to make a small adjustment, it would be to the seating and ordering arrangements, which at the moment operate very much like a quality Brewer's Fayre. Don't let guests choose their seats - seat them. Don't let guests order from the bar - take their order. People may disagree with me but those are just my two cents. It makes things seem a lot more professional.

The staff were great and work damn hard to make sure everything is suitable for their guests. On one previous occasion my girlfriend was stuck in bed ill, and a waiter was kind enough to deliver our order straight to our room, which was much appreciated.

To sum up, we had a great experience, I would highly recommend the Inn, and we will stay again in 2013.

Room Tip: Beach House or upgrade to Ben Lomond.
