“Stunning place at loch lomond”

Stayed in a beach house part of the hotels accomadation which was located over the road from the main hotel, very secluded in a stunning location, the room was very nice, clean, warm, good size everything you needed. This was a birthday suprise stay for me from my boyfriend and i was certainly not disappointed. had a lovely 2 night stay, ate in the main hotel bar/resturant on the first night, very nice food+a good selection of drinks.. would highly recommend for a romantic get away.

We stopped here for one night, having stayed for a couple of nights at Lodge on Loch Lomond the previous year. Rooms are very nicely decorated and very reasonable for the standard of room you get and for the view that you have. We stayed in one of the third floor rooms which had a view on to Loch Lomond.

Our evening meal was fantastic and the coffees were very good indeed. It's not often you see a fern in your coffee these days.

The one issue I have, which is simply the way the Inn operates, is that you cannot order at your table if you are eating in the restaurant. Having previously worked in the hotel trade for many years, I would have thought by the number of staff on duty that it would have been possible to have taken orders (rather than customers having to walk to the bar - in a separate room - and order). It was particularly frustrating when ordering deserts/coffees.

Another slight issue I had was with breakfast. The breakfast is a buffet style breakfast, which I have absolutely no issue with, but for some reason the hot buffet (consisting of egg and bacon) is squeezed into one corner beside the toaster. This means there is a massive queue for the toaster which holds up everyone from getting their hot breakfast (regardless of whether they want toast or not). It just seemed odd as there was plenty of space....

All in all a very enjoyable stay nonetheless and would definitely be back.

Room Tip: Top floor facing out to the Loch

Stayed here for 2 nights. Room was big and clean, bathroom was stunning and had a heated floor. Not very many tv channels available, but whos there to watch tv? The food is superb, breakfast has alot to offer, eggs and bacon are the only hot items, but there is meat and cheese, pastrys, fresh fruit and yoghurt, tea coffee and plenty of fruit juice. Location is great for walks, and the walks are amazing. If you want a nice place to stay with excellent food all at a great price, this should be it.

Popped in for dinner whilst staying at nearby Inverbeg Caravan Park. Tasty starter of humus with a selection of hot toasted breads and pittas. Main course was steak pie and chips which was amazing and a huge portion. Moved through to bar for drinks where there was a couple of folk singers who were good fun. Only drawback was we wanted to leave meal tab open and pay for subsequent drinks on tab but they said they couldn't leave it open. With no cash we had to charge subsequent drinks to a card for each round - at £7 a time this must cost them a fortune on card transactions! Great place for food I will be back!

I decided last minute to take a nights break and booked The inn at Inverbeg. I was in a room in the main hotel, very spacious and modern with views over the loch and the mountains. The bar and lounge areas were stylish and comfortable, ideal for relaxing and reading my book. The food was delicious, Cullen skink to die for. The staff could not have been nicer or more helpful and travelling on your own allows you the luxury of people watching and I saw that this service was uniform and across the board with the staff immediately attending to needs like high chairs without being asked. I found it such a pleasant place to be that I stayed a second night and was charged the same rate that I had paid for he previous nights online rate and was upgraded to the beach house which was a separate house across the road from the main hotel via an underpass. Well all I can say is simply stunning. Situated on the edge of Loch Lomond with beautiful views over the water, the room was large and stylishly furnished. I love this place and plan to visit again and again.

Wonderful hotel, beautifully refurbished to a very high standard, bathroom floors even have heated tiles!! All areas are clean and staff are great! We don't have a car but this hotel is easy to get to on foot, an easy 45min walk from the bus stop in luss, also a great base for walks up to tarbet! The restaurant is amazing, proper chip shop style fish and chips! Burgers, pastas and steak pie are all beautiful, but seafood is there speciality!! Well stocked bar with over 200 whiskys! Good selection of wines and real ales as well! 3 course meal and a drink each, less than £50!

The room that we stayed in was the Ben Vane. Best room to have with a balcony and a large window with a seating area. Some things to note are:

1 - the patio door that was not correctly secured and fell off landing on the balcony where I had been sitting a few minutes before. Ask if this has been repaired.

2 - there is no shower in this room

3 - the four poster bed is very close to one wall making it difficult to get into.

4 - breakfast is a strange set up of bacon and scrambled eggs the only hot options and they are queued for. A lack of glasses, sugar and jam at peak times.

5 - this is not a fish restaurant it is a posh chippy really. Nothing wrong with it but it does make you think you can get fresh fish selection which is not really the case.

6 - toiletries in room were hand wash and shampoo only.

7 - main room light and one bathroom one did not work. Lamps only working in bedroom.

Without the patio door episode we may have returned but I feel that is unlikely now. Nobody showed any great concern at the time when i was clearly shaken and on check out despite just learning of the incident no comment was made until my husband mentioned it. While partial refund has been given a complimentary night at the same room fixed may have been better. We had purchased 2 takeaway cheese courses to eat on our balcony with some wine and the moment was lost. This was part of a birthday treat after a Spa day and my experience was pretty much ruined.
