We have visited the Loch Lomond Arms on three occaisions for lunch and each time have walked away looking forward to our next visit to this lovely rural retreat. The food is delicious, very fresh, reasonably priced and nicely presented, a warm welcome, good service, ambient surroundings with lots of character. Lovely house wines.

Stayed at the Hotel last weekend on the relaxing weekend package. What a treat, The hotel is immaculate, the room was cosy and very good standard, the bed was so comfy, had dinner on both evenings the food is lovely and great choices of wine, breakfast is fab and the waitresses were extremely friendly. Went on the loch boat tour on Saturday, great way to spend a few hours. Thanks to Beverley for her ear muffs. Great Hotel and cant wait to come back again.

Stayed overnight last week abd discovered not only great accomodation with a lovely warm and comfortable well equipped en-suite facing the loch but the most welcoming, friendly and helpful staff who treated us as old friends.
Breakfast was as breakfasts used to be and we really found the hotel delightful and excellent value. We look forward to returning for a longer stay.
With Best Wishes and many thanks. Slainte.

Met some friends for Sunday lunch and could not fault the service or location. The excellent refurbishment has saved an historic building which had been showing every year of the 2 centuries plus it has been serving the locals and travellers alike.

Food was very good and mostly fair value for money but the rib-eye steak was a bit overpriced at £18.95 and the lamb cutlets too were on the expensive side at £17.50.

The menu boasts “All our meat is 100% Scotch supplied by Rogers Butcher of Byres Road,
Glasgow”. When paying £18.95 for a rib-eye I’d like to know more about where my meat comes from.

There is s glaring hole in the menu of this hotel, which is owned by Sir Malcolm Colquhoun of Luss Estates, one of the biggest private land owners in the area. They state on their website that the hotel “offers traditional, fresh and locally sourced food”. Where’s the local game – venison, grouse, pheasant and duck or the beef, lamb and mutton from the Luss Estate farms?

Combine such truly local produce with the obvious skill that exists in their kitchen and the Loch Lomond Arms Hotel could start giving several other better known venues in the area the competition they need.

We stayed here for three nights - my husband walks the hills and this area has many for him to explore. We were really impressed with the hotel - the staff are all very helpful and friendly, the room was very clean with well though out decor in the room and throughout the hotel. The bed was so comfortable!!! We slept well, ate well and felt like we'd had a much longer stay than three nights. If we get a chance we'll come again.

Our room had a view of the village of Luss and Loch Lomond but I think, judging by the quality of our room which was right at the top of the original building, that whatever room you are given will be good and there will be at least views of surrounding hills.

As others have said, this recently refurbished property has changed beyond all recognition and the interior is stunning, clearly no expense has been spared. The location is also second to none. Unfortunately the same cannot be said for the food. On two occaisions we have eaten here and obviously the management are using the cheapest possible foodstuffs. What a shame. I would rather that they charged slightly more and used higher quality foods. For example a roll and bacon - served in the cheapest possible burger bun which tasted like polystyrene. Lunch sandwiches where the bread was obviously supermarket own brand "basics" line. I would say come here for either a drink in the excellent bar, even just for coffee, which is great after a cold autumn walk. Eating here - forget it and go to Lodge on the Loch further up the road.

Thank you for your kind comments on our newly refurbished hotel and the positive comments. We note your comments about the food - sorry it didn't meet your expectations, this is certainly not the standard we aspire to. Our sandwich selection along with the soup and sandwich combination is very popular, but there is always room for improvement and we already have plans to change our bread supplier and the type of bread we do use. Come back and visit us soon!

We stopped here by chance on our way round Loch Lomond. Well worth the diversion. We waddled out an hour and a half later having eaten the more gorgeous lunch. Beautiful meat and veg, well cooked and full of flavour. The dessert menu was an adventure - too many tasty choices. I will definitely be back and would be happy to stay here if the rooms are of the standard of the dining room - the kind of room where I'd love to have a winter dinner or even Christmas dinner.
