Drimsynie Estate Holiday Village
Reviewed September 28, 2012

Great place to get away from it all, great value in the chalets and if you get one that has just been renovated then all the better, plenty to do if you want around the area ;Fishing(boat, shore and freshwater) Golf and plenty of hill walks, the place also has a pool and gym , enjoyed my few days there before heading back towards Glasgow

Room Tip: Choose a renovated chalet

Had a lovely 3 day break in a premiere caravan at Riverside. Very spacious and comfortable.
My 2 year old loved the soft play and swimming pool. We ate at the Rob Roy bar for 2 nights, could not fault the food it was lovely and very good service.
There was always entertainment on at night although 1 night was cancelled. My daughter loved dancing at the disco.
First time we have been to a caravan as a family and I would definitely go again.
Views are beautiful and it's so peaceful.

Myself, my friend and our three children (1, 2 and 8) stayed in a premier caravan for three nites. The caravan was spotless and well equipped...the only issue i had was that there was no hair dryer or iron provided. Swimming pool was great for the kids and always nice and warm. Ice skating was great fun too and we never had to queue or wait around. We had lunch, breakfast and dinner each nite and thought the meals were excellent. The kids portions were really generous. The only problem with the facilities was the fact that my son who is 2 and a half, could not use the soft play area as it is for 4+. You should be able to sign a disclaimer to say you are happy for your wee one to go in if you think they are bignore enough, which he was. All in though we had a ball and will definitely be back in the near future!

Stayed in Courtyard Number 2 for a few nights, once we got used to the musty smell we settled into the spacious accommodation and generally enoyed ourselves given the value of this break. Negatives would include the woefully looked after courtyard itself and the almost decaying doormat which welcomed us, you only get one chance to make a first impression and that it did, plenty damp and flaking paint etc, Plumbing pressure was awkward in the morning and most of us gave up with the idea of starting the day with a hot shower, no need for a management response here as the site maintenance manager agreed it was best to get up early before everyone else got their demands on the water. We know this is true because we gave him a can of Carlsberg for trying his best at a no win situation, pleasnt though he was, These are not complaints, we had a great time with my family and brother who enjoyed the nature, fishing, walking and talking to the animals. Thanks for a good time. Graham ( Fife )

to start the place is set in stunning scenery and is very beautiful...the holiday park was very clean and well presented..the caravan was clean and well equiped...apart from an ironing board!!!(did ask at reception if there was one to use but there wasnt..this could be a good idea!!)
On arrival we were dealt with promptly by a lovely blonde lady...the down side being we had to pay a £100 damage deposit that we hadnt been informed about...we were told it had only just been introduced!!! we should have been telephoned and made aware of this before our trip....some people may not have allowed for this expence within there budget.....and to top it off it is now the 6th september and i have still not been refunded my £100 we left on the 1st september!!!
we paid £145 for a rover pass which was good value, however the irritating bit was having to leave deposits for everything(snooker bowls badmington golf !!) even though they already had taken £100 off us!!! really need to assess this.
overall we did have a lovely holiday and didnt encounter any problems staff were lovely...but the girls who work with the children probably need some guidance as they were talking amongst themselves and not really interacting with the children . We ate out a couple of times food was ok and served promptly staff were efficient and polite...bar was very well priced as was the costcutter shop which i though very reasonable for a site shop.
The holiday park is in a superb location and is a great family holiday...overall it was good value for money and apart from the above mentioned niggles we had a great time and would recommend it...even in the rain!!!

Hi Angie! Thank you for your review! We're delighted you enjoyed your stay with us, minus the niggles you had mentioned. That was strange about the ironing board, as all accommodations should have one. I will pass this information on so we can get that resolved as soon as possible.

We apologise regarding the deposit. We know this must have been an inconvenience. The information about the deposit is actually in our Terms and Conditions, but I appreciate that this should have been communicated to you more clearly.

I will pass your concerns on, but I'm glad to hear that you still very much enjoyed your holiday with us! We hope you'll come back and see us again soon. In the meantime, be sure to Like Argyll Holidays on Facebook to keep up with offers and news. See you soon!
