“Great If You Dont Need To Wash”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 9, 2012

Stayed in Courtyard Number 2 for a few nights, once we got used to the musty smell we settled into the spacious accommodation and generally enoyed ourselves given the value of this break. Negatives would include the woefully looked after courtyard itself and the almost decaying doormat which welcomed us, you only get one chance to make a first impression and that it did, plenty damp and flaking paint etc, Plumbing pressure was awkward in the morning and most of us gave up with the idea of starting the day with a hot shower, no need for a management response here as the site maintenance manager agreed it was best to get up early before everyone else got their demands on the water. We know this is true because we gave him a can of Carlsberg for trying his best at a no win situation, pleasnt though he was, These are not complaints, we had a great time with my family and brother who enjoyed the nature, fishing, walking and talking to the animals. Thanks for a good time. Graham ( Fife )

to start the place is set in stunning scenery and is very beautiful...the holiday park was very clean and well presented..the caravan was clean and well equiped...apart from an ironing board!!!(did ask at reception if there was one to use but there wasnt..this could be a good idea!!)
On arrival we were dealt with promptly by a lovely blonde lady...the down side being we had to pay a £100 damage deposit that we hadnt been informed about...we were told it had only just been introduced!!! we should have been telephoned and made aware of this before our trip....some people may not have allowed for this expence within there budget.....and to top it off it is now the 6th september and i have still not been refunded my £100 we left on the 1st september!!!
we paid £145 for a rover pass which was good value, however the irritating bit was having to leave deposits for everything(snooker bowls badmington golf !!) even though they already had taken £100 off us!!! really need to assess this.
overall we did have a lovely holiday and didnt encounter any problems staff were lovely...but the girls who work with the children probably need some guidance as they were talking amongst themselves and not really interacting with the children . We ate out a couple of times food was ok and served promptly staff were efficient and polite...bar was very well priced as was the costcutter shop which i though very reasonable for a site shop.
The holiday park is in a superb location and is a great family holiday...overall it was good value for money and apart from the above mentioned niggles we had a great time and would recommend it...even in the rain!!!

Hi Angie! Thank you for your review! We're delighted you enjoyed your stay with us, minus the niggles you had mentioned. That was strange about the ironing board, as all accommodations should have one. I will pass this information on so we can get that resolved as soon as possible.

We apologise regarding the deposit. We know this must have been an inconvenience. The information about the deposit is actually in our Terms and Conditions, but I appreciate that this should have been communicated to you more clearly.

I will pass your concerns on, but I'm glad to hear that you still very much enjoyed your holiday with us! We hope you'll come back and see us again soon. In the meantime, be sure to Like Argyll Holidays on Facebook to keep up with offers and news. See you soon!

stayed in the lodges here with the hot tub, the lodge was immaculate and we had an amazing time here and staff were so friendly and welcoming and we had a great time all weekend. breakfast was basic but suited us and dinner service was fast considering they had a big function on one of the nights.

I have now been to these Log cabins 4 times with family and friends. They have lots of different style lodges and caravans. We have stayed in 3 different types of lodges all been excellent and very spacious. This is a hidden gem better than loch lomond very peaceful and in amazing scenery. The lodges are very well prices especially if a few go. For a relaxing weekend in scotland in amazing settings i reccomend this place.

Room Tip: the lodges are self catering so take plenty of food and drink and you will be fine. there is a shop...

Stayed in a luxury caravan the last week in August 2012, the caravan was nice and spacious and modern. The park was a good concept where you pay rock bottom price for your accommodation then bolt on activity packages as you see fit. The popular package covers everything from golf to gym and swimming all for 85 for three days, however e took the swimming package for three days which cost 25 for a family of 4 this gave us access to h pool jacuzzi sauna and steam rooms. The food on site was disappointing everything seamed to be frozen and not really cheap, I feel they miss a trick here as there is literally nothing else within 10 miles. We hired a boat from loch goil cruisers which was 60 for 3 hours, it was fab really enjoyed it.

I would summarise by saying if our want a holiday away from it all this is the place to go the scenary is superb, if you need shops and entertainment choose somewhere else...simples

Hi Nik, thank you for the review! We're glad you enjoyed your recent break with us. We're sorry to hear that the food didn't live up to expectations, though. We pride ourselves on using fresh, local ingredients, and are disappointed to hear you didn't enjoy the food. We currently have a number of Daily Specials to offer some variety, so we hope that you visit us again and give some of our other dishes a chance. We also have a new Entertainment Manager who started with us last week, so there will be a lot more happening throughout the week here at Drimsynie, so we hope that also might encourage you to visit again. We stayed in an Osprey Lodge, which itself was great. It had everything we needed, clean and also a great view of Lochgoil. The park and its surrounding is really beautiful.
We felt the facilities could have been better, especially on days when you want to stay at the site, there's activities but just not great- it wasn't even worth staying there! We had food a few times, good value, but often came out wrong! The organised activities such as quizzes and things for the children were generally quite good, and great for kids! Would have been nice for stuff just for adults midweek! Nothing, including the swimming pool was included in the price, unless you want to pay £185 for a rover pass, when at booking it did not state this! When we did go swimming there was no staff supervising the area at all. Just a button for emergencies-doesn't make you feel confident. Games room was dated, with the exception of the kids play area, most machines were broken and not maintained.
There was some staff that were quite rude. When we checked out, the woman that saw to us, firstly acted as if we more of a hindrance than wanting to help. When we went to pay by card for our service charges, she made us take cash out- as someone hadn't charged the card machine- the cash machine also charged for taking out money, which she wouldn't refund, she didn't seem bothered about it. Not happy that she didn't find a solution. Which was just one incident as there are too many to list.
Would go back to the area again but not to the site.

Hi Heather, thank you very much for taking the time to review your recent stay with us. We're sorry to hear that your visit didn't live up to expectations. With regards to entertainment we have a new Entertainment Manager who started with us last week, so there will be loads more activities on throughout the week, to suit all ages.

We are always keen to receive any kind of feedback, be it positive or negative, so I will pass your concerns on to the General Manager regarding the facilities and lack of staff in the swimming area. I'm also sorry to hear about the incident at reception. It sounds like further training is required so reception staff are aware of the correct procedures, so as to ensure incidents such as the one you encountered remain isolated. Therefore, I will also pass this information on to the GM, and I apologise for the inconvenience. I do hope you will give us a chance to make it up to you and pay us another visit in the near future. Thanks again.

My husband and I booked a premier caravan for ourselves and our two young children (aged 3 & 4). What a great experience! The caravan was clean, in good condition and well equipped to cater for our needs. We cooked in the caravan most days and ate out at the restaurant once for lunch and once for tea. It was just like a home from home!

The restaurant was very reasonably priced and they give you a very generous portion! Great for kids too with a lovely selection of children's meals to choose from.

All the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful.

We purchased a Rover pass when we booked which is well worth it. We enjoyed swimming, crazy golf, table tennis, bowls & the children enjoyed the indoor play area, all without worrying about the cost as all is included in the price of the pass. (The pass was £75, we made sure we got our moneys worth)

The setting is beautiful whatever the weather, with the greenery of the hills and the stoney beaches with views of boats on the loch. Our two boys spent ages throwing stones in the water and trying to catch fish with their nets.

There is also a shop onsite that sells a wide range of food, drinks etc. It is a little on the expensive side but delivery costs must be pricey!

All in all a fantastic holiday for anyone of any age in our opinion. Will definately be visiting again
