we booked a 2 night stay with itison deal and left after 1 night ! due to poor quality of food and breakfast ,not enough staff to cope with breakfast,no orange juice available /waited for tables to be cleared although the two girls were trying their hardest to cope /ordered full breakfast everything piled on to centre of plate, presentation poor .decided to cut our losses went to Seamill Hydro hotel which was excellent as a hotel should be Clachan Cottage was really like a b&b . rooms ok nothing to talk about .
wanted tpo speak with manager on leaving to voice our opinions but no one at reception . left keys and carried on to have an excellent break elsewhere . cant recommend this place as they really promoted their food it was pub grub at it's best . wasn't worth the deal !! would be really angry if we paid the full price as price is the same as Seamill Hydro difference in all standards night and day

firstly sorry that was your experience it would appear lots of people staying the same night as you had a brilliant time saying food and breakfast fantastic? to compare a country cottage hotel with a five star hydro is simply grossly ignorant, your rudeness at breakfast was well noted, you know when your nice to people you will find they are nice back.

We stayed here for two nights having got a bargain through Groupon.

The hotel is in a very scenic location overlooking Loch Earn.

Our room appeared to be newly refurbished and was done so to a good standard and had a generously sized bathroom. Overall the hotel is very comfortable and has loads of character.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful.

The food was reasonably priced however we weren't that impressed by it. The breakfasts were very average and the evening meals tasty but not nothing special.

Overall I would totally recommend this place - especially if you can get a good deal.

Just returned from a two night stay and cannot rate the hotel highly enough. The setting on the banks of Loch Earn is breathtaking with ample parking. On arrival we were met with a warm welcome and this continued till we left.
The bedrooms have recently been refurbished and they are very comfortable.
Public areas have a rustic charm to them which adds to the atmosphere. Food served in the bar area was lovely and good portion sizes. So much so there was no room left for dessert. Breakfast was served upstairs in a separate dining room, and there was plenty of choice for everyone. The Scottish Breakfast was delicious and filling.
I would recommend trying this hotel for both active breaks or just a relaxing break away from it all.
Thank you to all the team at the hotel for making our stay so enjoyable. We will be back.

From the entrance through to the stairs inside the hotel no attempt to make it easy for disabled guest. The main stairs did have bannisters but access to the second floor was up two flights on stairs with no bannisters. our room did have a walk-in shower but the one next door while having a walk-in shower cubicle but access was up one step which was very steep with no grab rail. A few grab rails through out the hotel would have made life easier for us.
We were on a Wowcher deal £89 b&b for the two of us and that is all it was worth. The food was adequate but nothing to write home about.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the garden or with a side loch view are quiet but loch view is noisy.

unfortunately the hotel rooms are over two floors, we do not advertise ground floor rooms and its unfortunate that you did not enquire, if you are severely disabled you should really contact the hotel beforehand, you also turned up on the wrong date and we did our best to accomodate you in the only room we had which was upstairs on the top floor.

We stayed at this hotel last week with a 2 night itison voucher. We paid £89 for 2 nights bed and breakfast for 2.

First impressions on arrival were good, the hotel is situated on the banks of the Loch and the scenery is lovely. We arrived before the check in time so decided to have a drink in the bar to pass the time. We found the drink slightly overpriced but the bar itself was really nice and to our liking, along with the outside beer garden which was just perfect.

We checked in and found that our room (room 5), although small, containined everything we needed and also offered uninteruppted views of Loch Earn and the surrounding hills. The only issue we had with our room was that it was next to what appeared to be the staff quarters and it seemed that the door rattled every time a member off staff came and went.

Breakfast on the first morning was probably the biggest let down of our entire stay. When we arrived in the breakfast room at 8.45am there was no member of staff around. We picked our seat and helpded ourselves to the coffee and cereal but had to wait almost 20 minutes before our order was taken for the cooked breakfast. The disappointment was further compounded when guests who had arrived a good 5-10 minutes after us, were served theirs first. 3/4 of the way through the breakfast we had to ask for the toast which we had ordered, this was brough out almost instantly, sadly it was just warm white bread that had not been propely toasted.

I must say that the service and quality of the food on the second morning at breakfast was excellent compared to our experience the first morning.

The only other issue I had during our stay was that the fire alarm went off on the seond night at 5.40am, it stopped after around 30 seconds and we were advised at breakfast it had been caused by someone smoking/ I can only presume this was a member of staff given the quickness that the alarm was reset - not good.

Overall we did enjoy our stay but unless we bought another deal like the one we used, we would not rush back and pay full price.

Room Tip: Avoid room 5 if possible due to the noise of the comings and goings from the staff quarters and laun...

This Hotel is all based on the amazing view over Loch Earn. The man on reception needs to smile a bit more. I would say a basic hotel, room clean and well decorated. We ate in the bar on the first night, I had Haggis Neeps and Tatties, which looked more like a starter than a main was not piping hot. Unfortunately there are not many places to eat around the area within walking distance. The staff in the breakfast room were very friendly, but the breakfast was plentiful and ok. I suppose we should not complain as we went there on a 2 night deal, which was value for money.

Room Tip: Room 2 was good, has a lovely few.

3rd time at Clachan Cottage - never disappoints. Fantastic value with Living Social although wee issue was the cost of a bottle of Rioja in the bar at restaurant prices. Relaxed atmosphere, great service from Neil and the team. Thanks to Alan for getting Erdinger back in! Looking forward to next time!
