Spent a super weekend here in late August attracted by the local walking Ben Lawers,Tarmachan Ridge etc and despite some poor weather really enjoyed our stay. We found Killin to be small and friendly. The Falls of Dochart in the village were full and boiling after some heavy rainfall. An awesome sight!
Had booked a one bedroom lodge which had all we needed. Colin was an excellent host and helpful with directions

i like the highland lodges, we have come up twice to stay at the lodges, they are clean and tidy and are we suited for travelling the area. this year we stayed in one of the newer lodges which the quality of them are super. last year we stayed in one of the older ones are still nice.
Colin was always friendly and helpful.
the location it lovely, yes its a mile and a half from the village, but im sure people go up there on walking hols and there is a way to get into the village without using the road.....
its the place to go and chill and get the city air out of you brain...

if i was going to put a balanced comment my only negatives are the shower wasnt hot enough for my liking but laws do dictate and there was only 4 of everything in a four berth lodge, it was such a pain having to load the dishwasher, must remember to take the butler next time.
not even my car breaking down spoil my week away.
thank you colin

saw this below so though id ammend it:

Business Center : well i used my laptop and ran work
Fitness Center : the hills behind are good for fitness, i thought about some sit ups too
Free High Speed Internet : yep there is
Free Parking : plenty
Pets Allowed : absolutly
Restaurant ; you can eat in or outside if you wish and you can choose what you like
Room Service : well my wife and mother in law brought me coffee in bed
Swimming Pool ; gosh its a 15 mile swimming pool in walking distance what more do you need.

We have just returned from our 4th visit to Killin Highland Lodges and were delighted by the accommodation once again. The lodge was again spotlessly clean on arrival. The new fridge freezer and dishwasher were welcome additions in the kitchen.
Colin and Sarah were friendly and helpful and advised us that the current best eating place was the Bridge of Lochay, just down the road, where we enjoyed a excellent meal at a modest cost.
The Golf Club was also cheap and cheerful for a snack
The central location is great and this time we went to Oban, in the west, taking a ferry to "Balamory" on Mull to the delight of the children.
We used the Wi-Fi on site to book our ferry, which was very helpful
We will definitely be back.

Driving up to the Lodges , you wind your way up the most scenic road from the idylic village of Killin with the stunning views of the loch and the river.
On arrival at the lodge , we would have liked to have been met by a member of staff , but found our name on a board with the cabin number , we checked ourselves in and were met later by a very very pleasant young man who i assume to be the owner (he enquired as to whether we had settled in and were in need of anything ).
We found the interior of the cabin to be bright and airy , and had all the creature comforts of home. The cabin also sported a lovely enclosed porch where we had a few "sundowners" despite the typical scottish weather ....
We found the cabin to be clean and comfortable. The area has excellent hiking and outdoor activities . My son was soon best mates with the owners beautiful and soooo friendly labrador who would go for walks with us .
Be warned that the lodges are situated a short distance outside of the village and that means a walk of 1.5 miles if you planned to visit the pub for more than one.

All in all we managed to have a brilliant and relaxing week over the school holidays that didnt break the bank , and would highly recommend the local chip van (ask the owner) and the bridge of lochay hotel for meals.

WOULD DEF. RETURN NEXT YEAR !!!!
