First thing The Falls of Dochart are ridiculously picturesque and by staying at the Inn you could not be closer. Unfortunately are room was a standard one at the back so we didn't have a view of them, but I think some rooms at the front did and it would be well worth paying the small amount extra to see the falls from your room.

First impressions not great,no reception so had to get keys from the bar. Walked up some stairs through a laminated hall smelling somewhat of damp dog to reach room. Bedroom looked recently and tastefully decorated, although not spacious and some little touches needed sorting like white paint on skirting boards. Bigger rooms don't cost that much extra so would recommend them. Bathroom was not scrupulously clean and only had a bath rather than a shower, which was highly annoying in the morning as there was no hot water. Oh heating seemed fine, there was a large storage heater in the room which we had to turn down.

No tv in the room, but they said you could use tea room tv downstairs if you wanted to watch something in the evening, not sure how much fun it would be to sit in empty tea room but I suppose if you were desperate you could. I think the lack of TVs was maybe to do with noise levels as could hear quite a lot of what was going on around, plus plumbing very noisy.

Hubby enjoyed the real ale in the pub and we found the food to be good quality and reasonably inexpensive. We walked the length of the village and it looks like the pub offers the best selection. Service was excellent, staff very friendly.

Breakfast was excellent, we were down quite late although before 10.30 and they were happy to wait for hubby as he had gone off to find a paper.

Killin is a great base for some wonderful walking and although the rooms weren't perfect they were very acceptable for the cost and so handy just being above the pub, so we may well come back again.

Stopped here for an evening meal, and were extremely disappointed with the whole atmosphere.
The owner is obviously oblivious to his customers' needs, the one radiator that worked was kept down to a minimum, resulting in a very uncomfortable experience. I wished I'd taken a blanket! Everyone was sitting in the bar with their jackets on, and the tacky waxwork woman stole a prime position by the fire. The food was nice enough if somewhat over-priced.
This inn has the potential to be world class, but instead it just looks good.

I have stayed here before and the food, service, rooms and breakfast have all been very good, but,on the night I stayed it was almost warmer outside. The owner really needs to fix the heating or at least turn the thermostat up.

The inn is in a prime location overlooking the falls! States it's a boutique inn! A few scatter cushions does not make it a boutique inn, nor does the location!

On arrival we were shown to our room through a very cold corridor. Heating turned down to a minimum and the room was very cold! Rooms should be at an acceptable temperature to make the inn welcoming to the guests! (you do want them to return).

Room was okay although basic, nice bath! Mildew on the ceiling above window ( bleach works wonders), mattress very springy needs replacing, towel rail looked good but did not work!

We did not have a good restful night! Breakfast was good as was evening meal. Crockery was chipped (breeds bacteria) service was good. Does not justify over inflated price. Atmosphere in bar could have been good if it was not so cold. Everybody sitting around with jackets on in front of a log fire spoke volumes.

No internet connection as stated on web site, also there should be fire escape instructions on back of bedroom door, this is a legal requirement.

Would i return? For food yes but not to stay!!!!

Hope this is helpful!
