Really really good restaurant (never used the hotel rooms, so this is only about the restaurant). I've been there 7 times and going back tonight.

AREA is really nice. It's just in front of the falls and the river. The tourist information shop is just 2min walk from the hotel/restaurant. There is a large parking lot at the back so, no issue with that.

FOOD: Ok, not pretentious food, just food, but good one with good presentation. Portions are regular (I could do with more french fries though), you won't leave hungry.

PRICE: Resonnable. Expect £20-25 per person if you eat a la carte and take a 3 course meal with non alcoholic drinks.

I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone, it's worth the trip!

“Great location, good food”
Reviewed November 3, 2012 via mobile

Visited while on vacation. Quickly shown to a table and presented with a well thought out menu. Being lunchtime we wanted sandwiches but the braised ox cheek made me wish we were there for dinner.

Food came quickly and was tasty and well presented ( see photo of salmon and mayo sandwich).

Only complaint is that in an attempt to increase capacity the available room between table and chair has been compromised to the extent that we needed to move the table back and forth to all fit in (and this was with two waif like teenage girls in our party of four).

Value was fair with a hearty sandwich, string fries and salad costing GBP 8.50. Would prefer to see hand cut chips rather than Macdonalds style fries please.

Would definitely recommend.

“Excellent food and service”

Excellent food - tasty and good choice. Very friendly staff, especially the lady that calls everyone 'darling' and 'honey' (sorry, hen, but I don't know your name).

“Disappointing unwelcoming service”
Reviewed October 16, 2012

On a recent visit to the Falls of Dochart Inn we were met by a snippy and unwelcoming staff member, who may well have been the Manager or Owner!! It was an overdue family break and we felt that the lunch we experienced was average. However we might have returned had it not been for the service!
It's a shame as it's in such a lovely spot!

“Nice pub.....little disappointed with the food”
Reviewed October 3, 2012

A quaint little pub with a nice 'Scottish' feel, nice open fire. Menu is a tad limited and what would seem priced very similar to other restaurants in and around the area (£10-20 main course). I was tempted by the corn fed chicken with roasted sweet potato, fine beans, pancetta in a redcurrant gravy. When the food arrived, i was a little disappointed to see no beans, but instead a spoonful of what seemed like reheated mash and a few watercress leaves ontop of the chicken. There was no much of any gravy. The small cubes of sweet potato didn't taste roasted, more likely boiled/microwaved?. My partner's dish was equally as disappointing and he was left still feeling hungry afterwards but neither of us wished to spend the extra £7 odd on a dessert each. None of the waitresses asked at any point if our meals were okay or whether we would like dessert etc. We paid at the bar and left. Shame.... really had hoped the food would have been as good as anticipated from the lovely setting.
