“Lochs & Glens holiday.”
Reviewed September 16, 2013

Our base was the Inversnaid Hotel on the banks of Loch Lomond. The hotel is a delightful Victorian hotel set in beautiful surroundings. The hotel is owned by the Lochs & Glens holiday company. We had a brilliant holiday - everything was so well organised. The hotel is situated at the end of a 15 mile single track road. Excursions from the hotel started with a boat trip across the Loch to a coach waiting to take us out for the day trips. The hotel was comfortable; the food was good and plentiful. We will return someday soon.

Room Tip: Ask for a front room over looking the Loch.

We stopped for lunch whilst walking the WHW

It was terrible !

The food was c1985 service station quality, the tomato soup was made with beef stock - and tasted more like oxtail soup

The sandwiches were unappetising and the chips were pretty poor

It's only redeeming features are its dry and has free wifi

Wonderful location on the banks of Loch Lomond, with own ferry to transport across the Loch, staff welcoming and efficient and good choice for breakfast and evening meals. This is used and I believe owned by Lochs & glens Coaching Holidays and when I stayed they had 4-5 coaches in, therefore the meals were timed in the various restaurant's but I didn't feel rushed at any time. but it meant that you had to stick to the meal times allotted this was not a problem and added to the smooth running of the Hotel. The entertainment was enjoyable and suited to the guests. After visiting Edinburgh for the Tattoo we arrived at the Hotel very late but the bar remained open and coffee was also offered. Exceptional value for money

The Inversnaid hotel did need a refurbishment our room was quite small and the bed was not the most comfortable as I have had back surgery.
However, it has a fantastic setting the view over Loch Lomond from our window was fantastic.
All the staff were very smart and polite and nothing was too much trouble for them.
As there were four coach parties staying, the dinning times were in slots according to your drivers name and you had to have the same table for your meals.
I thought that this was run very efficiently and there were no problems as there are three dining halls, the food was very good and as I have said earlier the staff were great, and for the money we paid we cannot complain.

This hotel does have a fantastic setting. The main communal areas are ok if a little tired. The bedroom was quite small (although this was a last minute booking) and again quite tired with a fantastic view of scaffolding!
Dinner was at 7.45pm and the waiter had been sent to my room to say dinner was ready (I was late by a minute).
The food was average and served far too quickly by hoards of waiters.
The next morning I went down early, all the other people staying werd queuing to get in! I went outside for some fresh air and the waiter came after me. Too enthusiastic!! Buffet style is the norm and most hotels these days and I would suggest that this reviewed. It's too formal at that time in the morning. All in all an ok stay, but needs a makeover. Also when making enquiries about transport after breakfast, the receptionist was unaware I had
been standing there and her conversation was not appropriate.
