The new look makes this place much more inviting. Excellent home made curry and good service. Probably the best curry house in the area.
Would definitely recommend.

We went for first time to this restaurant today. The decor was beautiful and the food was excellent. The service was very good and friendly. We took the deal for £20 (one starter to share and 2 main meals with rice and nan). There was plenty food and it was delicious. We shall be back.

No 28 now under new ownership and has been completely refurbished which has made a huge difference to the feel of the place which previously lacked atmosphere. We were made so welcome by the owner Sammy who went out of his way to make us feel like special customers. We are local foodies who particularly like Indian food and I would definitely say that this now the nicest Indian restaurant in Helensburgh. Previously wrote a review a few years ago on the Akash which is also under new ownership but they have spent nothing on it and it looks tired and shabby in comparison. Have also tried the new Masala Twist in Helensburgh which is very popular and whilst the service and food are excellent, the atmosphere just isn't right for us - too much like a big canteen and maybe ok if you are in a big party but as we usually eat out just the 2 of us I would highly recommend No 28 for atmosphere, comfort, great food, service and excellent value.

Just been to No. 28 since the re-furb and under new management. Went for a family meal (all adults) - The re-furb has worked well giving a lighter feel to the place, the service was friendly and good and more to the point the food was excellent. Well presented, plenty of it, cooked well and really tasty. I have eaten in 28 before re-furb and always liked the food but atmosphere and price were off putting, now much improved i would highly recommend a visit. having eaten in masarla twist a few times i would say 28 is a little more expensive but just has the edge with the food. It is nice we have 2 good indian resturants now with good competion between them.

Went here tonight with my wife and OMG is it good!

Sunday to Thursday any shared starter, any two mains a rice and nan for £20.

Fresh tasting flavoursome food from start(ers) to finish.

People rave about the recently opened Masala Twist but they really are not a patch on Number 28.
