We've been to La Barca a few times with friends and/or family. It's a really relaxed atmosphere - the decor and glass frontage make you feel like you're somewhere more exotic than Clyde Street in Helensburgh. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food is excellent. Alcohol is a little pricey by local standards but you expect that from a nice restaurant, and food is good value - lunch time 3 tapas for £9.95 goes down well. We have two toddlers who enjoy the food and are always made welcome. If you're thinking of taking kids there its worth knowing that there's no kids menu, but its pretty easy to find them something they'll like - ours loved the calamari. There is no baby change facility so you have to improvise, which doesn't bother us but may bother some people. All in all this is currently our favourite place to eat in Helensburgh and I can't recommend it enough.

Lovely little Spanish style restaurant on the front serving reasonably priced quality tapas.
The owner Milan has a passion, and may I add flair, in providing friendly, professional service.
He is obviously dedicated in providing and expanding ' eating out ' in Helensburgh, which quite frankly, is dire to say the least.
Wish the local governing bodies would allow outside dining / drinking - look at other European countries - Italy, Holland, Spain, Germany ........
Feel this would encourage local / national & international visitors particularly with the 2014 commonwealth games approaching.
Will definatley return.

We visited here during a 4 day stay in Helensburgh. We were attracted by the previous Trip Advisor reviews and a recommendation from our B&B hosts. There are positives and negatives. It is a fun dining experience, the service is prompt and friendly, there is lots of choice and the restaurant layout is really good with a choice of booths, open tables and arm chairs. However it is a bit on the expensive side, the food isn't the best ever and is served warm ( I think Tapas is meant to be like that but might catch some people out). Overall very good but not the best.
