Dreadful experience in Kidstons. Not my first visit, and should have learned from the sour reception previously. Great decor but too many tables and barely room to move. The cafe overlooks a new playpark, so why the dirty look when my friend and I arrive at a quiet time with my well-behaved baby in his pushchair? We were directed to a table for two beside a store room by the manageress and told that this would be the only place for the pushchair.....then asked to move said pushchair 5 times in an hour! We ordered (dry) fruit scones, tea and coffee. The scones were slapped down in front of us - our drinks followed singly, some time later. Had to pick a hair out of the jam too, which quells the appetite somewhat. I almost managed to finish my tea before the table was cleared, despite being one of only two occupied tables in the place. There are plenty of more welcoming places in Helensburgh to go to....or take a picnic to the park. But Kidstons? Avoid.
