We visited with friends and had the two front rooms. Both large and equipped with everything we could need. Jane's breakfasts were wonderful-with home baked shortbread and tablet (fudge) on the tea trays. The views over the Clyde and the fact that Helensburgh station is just down the hill, with The Hill House round the corner meant that we were well placed to explore the area. The bathrooms were beautiful and again thought had gone into providing us with all that we could want.

It's always a gamble booking accommodation you've never been to before.

We've stayed in many B & B's over the years throughout Britain and some have been OK, others awful.

No need to worry about Lethamhill, Helensburgh though. Without doubt it's by far the best B & B we have ever stayed in. Our room was huge and filled with beautiful antique furniture including a fabulous bed and for once, the pillows didn't feel like blocks of wood . We had an en-suite bathroom larger than most peoples' main bathroom with a walk-in corner shower and full size bath. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and to top it all we had a great view across the Firth of Clyde.

Breakfast was plentiful and superbly cooked and Jane's pancakes and soda bread where amazing and she also left a selection of other goodies like shortbread or fudge in the hallway for guests to help themselves to.

I will recommend Lethamhill to everyone I know.

Our three night stay was primarily to visit "The Hill House" the National Trust of Scotland owned property designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh which is within walking distance and was well worth visiting. Lethamhill is also an interesting property having been built a little later and designed by Sir John Burnett. It has been maintained in excellent order with the original features retained..
The rooms are spacious with modern en-suites and the house has many interesting antiques and artifacts. Jane is very welcoming providing an excellent breakfast with a wide choice which includes her home baking of soda bread, scones etc with additional titbits usually left in the hallway.
Ten minutes drive from Loch Lomond and with beautiful views over the Clyde the house is well situated for visiting the central west coast and The Trossachs. Also there is a good train service every half hour into the centre of Glasgow which we used to visit further CRM properties and for shopping. Journey time forty minutes.
A thirty minutes easy walk down the hill to the promenade enables one to view many other interesting properties. Although we didn't, many may wish to avail themselves of one of the readily available taxis to return to Lethamhill particularly after sampling some of the excellent cuisine at The Upper Crust and Storm restaurants which Jane recommended. A number of people told us the latter is generally considered to be the best in the area but we found the food was matched by The Upper Crust at much lower prices. Don't be put off by the off street entrance.
With all facilities needed and Jane's hospitality we would strongly recommend a visit.

We have just returned home after 6 weeks touring the UK, staying in 5 star B& B's and must say that our stay at Lethamhill was one of the best. Our comfortable room was furnished with beautiful antiques, the bathroom was modern but magnificent with a splendid claw foot bath and power shower, if desired. The view over the Firth of Clyde was magic. Our host, Jane, was welcoming, warm and nothing was too much trouble. Jane's breakfast were splendid complete with soda scones and potato cakes and even a mini haggis to complement the wonderful cooked breakfast. We were pleased that the parking was easy to access which made our visit even more relaxing. Thank you Jane for a wonderful stay.

I decided to go up to Scotland to enjoy Hogmanay and experience the Scottish culture, and as this was the first romantic trip planned with my girflriend, I was eager to make a good impression. Never in my wildest dreams did I think we would have such an amazing experience.

The beauty of the surroundings was only exceeded by the sheer professionalism and grace of the owner and manager of Lethamhill, a lovely lady named Jane. The reception was a stark contrast to the icy weather and immediately warmed us up.
The room we stayed in was absolutely beautilful and the well-designed and brilliantly executed interior took our breath away., and the high level of service was amazing made us feel truely at home. The room was immaculately serviced with all the luxuries and trimmings one desires.

We had the privalige of enjoying a home cooked breakfast, personally prepared by Jane which was absolutely delicous. With only a short distance from a wide selection of activities, we were able to enjoy the Glasgow night life, go to Sterling Castle and experience the breathtaking scenery that the Lochs provide.

This was by far the best value for money experience that we could have imagined, and would definitely reccomend this beautiful and establishment to friends and family.
You would be crazy not to take up the opportunity of experiencing a hidden gem like this.

Thank you to everyone at Lethamhill who made the weekend the most enjoyable and the most romantic experience we have ever had.
