The hotel is located in a beautiful setting. The room standard is average (it's worn down and dated) but I feel this is reflected in the price, and taking it into account I would say the hotel presents good value for money.
Be warned - there are no TVs in the rooms. The ambience of the whole place makes up for it though. It's a kind of hotel where you go to be away from the civilisation and we didn't miss the TV at all.
The staff are very friendly. We stayed in a family room (308) on the top floor - it was huge, with amazing views.
Another plus is a beautiful sitting room on the ground floor, with an open fireplace. Great for winding down after dinner, with a book and a glass of wine.
We had dinner and it was average, better than the usual pub grub but not a memorable culinary experience.More
