“Lovely Overnight Stay!”
Reviewed October 22, 2012

Booked deal through Glasgow Great Deal Website. On arrival, enjoyed afternoon tea with Prosecco! Pleasant but could have been more of a sandwich on plate than 4 small fingers. Too much cream cake etc. Went for a walk while waiting for room to be ready + the little village is lovely. Had a drink in the Crachan Inn + it was a lovely country pub serving hearty food that we could see. Went back to the hotel and headed down to the pool etc and they were good facilities overall though needed a wee upgrade + jacuzzi out of order. Steam room was excellent though. We had taken advantage of The £10 off per person for the Haven Spa + opted for a hot stone massage each as we had never had that done before. It was a very relaxing and nice experience and we both enjoyed it. We then went back to the bar to enjoy our bottle of Prosecco that came with the deal. Very nice though the chocs we were promised never came!
We had a relax in front of the roaring coal fire in the lounge and it was lovely. We ate at the rather disappointing Winnock Hotel for dinner rather than take advantage of a 3 course for £15 set menu (less 25% discount) at Buchanan Arms! Wish we had taken that instead.
Room was comfortable and shower powerful enough + plenty hot water. Rooms clean and tidy and good facilities (flat screen tv, hairdryer, plenty wardrobe space, hangers + tea/coffee etc). Breakfast was delicious with not only the hot + cold buffet available but also a choice of kippers, smoked haddock + poached egg or even scrambled egg + smoked salmon for a supplement. All in all a lovely stay + would certainly recommend. Many thanks! Xx

Stayed here whilst walking the WHW in September , room was comfortable but drinks and food were quite expensive.
The room we were allocated was a nice twin on the second floor but a piece of advice, don't leave lights on with the windows open as the midges were a wee bit troublesome during our stay

Arrived on Tuesday 16th October and stayed for 2 nights. Hotel is situated in the lovely village of Drymen and central for a lot of the local attractions. The hotel has tried to upgrade some of the rooms by giving them a lick of paint, personally I wouldn't have paid the decorating company as the work was very sloppy with paint covering light shades etc. The bathrooms certainly need an upgrade as ours was cold and damp! The leisure facilities are okay, but again could do with an upgrade and a good clean. The restaurant was very nice and the food was very tasty, however the service was a bit of a let down and some of our food was either boiling hot or stone cold. Moving onto the bar, like the last review the drinks were rather expensive and the bar lacked any atmosphere. I am sure with a touch of TLC and some time spent on improving the service this hotel would become a fantastic place to stay and would definitely live up to it's 4 stars!

Hotel either did things very good or very bad. Check-in was 3pm and as we arrived for 2pm - like most others - we left our bags and headed out to the beautiful Balmaha. We came back and room was ready. Lovely big room, extras all in place that we had ordered. Clean, comfy and no complaints here. We made use of the leisure facilities, again no complaints. We booked the restaurant for dinner - 8.15pm earliest sitting left - book as soon as you arrive if you want your choice - or not... Restaurant left a LOT to be desired. Wine was chucked on the table with a 'Here's yir Shiraz'... Then, steak wasn't done to order. Mushrooms on plate when asked to be withheld and catch of the day at £14 was a joke. To be fair, the restaurant manager tried to make things better but the damage - unfortunately - was done. Yes, we would return to the hotel -however, we will not eat in the overpriced/underdelivered restaurant...

Hotel was very well located for Loch Lomond... very clean and welcoming with excellent breakfast. Large car park. Close by were a number of Pubs/B&B's and a hotel which were better value for a drink or food.
For an overnight stay ideal.

Stayed here for 3 nights in mid October, found the staff to be helpful and friendly.
Room was spacious with a table and chairs and a king size bed but after looking at the bed we found it was two single beds bolted together with 2 single lumpy mattresses zipped together which was not at all comfortable in the middle of the bed.
There was plenty choice at breakfast but the majority of cooked food was lukewarm.
Sauna was warmish and small and no shower area so you have to go back into the changing room for a shower before going back into the pool.Steam room was good but small too.
Found the bar price to be quite expensive, not much change from £10 for two drinks !!
At dinner i asked the waiter about the sauce to go with the chicken dish..... im still waiting!!!.
Rooms are a bit tired with dirty bathroom ceilings and mould round the window, could do with an upgrade.

Room Tip: We stayed in Room 11 and could hear every footstep in the room above, noisy creaking floorboards and...

Stayed at end of sept. Booked thro discount site, ie groupon etc. We upgraded to deluxe Room which was large and spacious. Clean bathroom, decent towels, large tv, couch in Room. The comfiest bed ever! We ate in hotel restaurant which i found reasonable, they did 3 course for 16.95. Good food at this price. Good breakfast.didnt try the pool or gym facilities but had a treatment in the spa, which was good. Only downside was the lounge was quiet, could do with some ambient lighting and some music! It seemed cold and empty! À bus tour staying over were expecting some kind of entertainment, and it did need it! But saying that it was a reasonable price hotel with average facillities.
