This is a very comfortable, spacious, exceptionally clean and modern conversion of an old church.!
It has ample off road parking which adds to its attraction. Francis made us very welcome and does a very good breakfast selection.I would highly recomend this place to stay and would definitely visit again.

We were staying in the 8 bed bunkroom and were greeted on arrival with hot scones and tea. Guests have their own lounge and kitchen so it really is a home from home. Beds are comfy and the shower is beautiful.

Close to all amenities in a quiet location. Ideal for walkers ir anyone wanting to stay in the area.

We had a lovely time at the kirk. Perhaps it's not as church-like as we had expected, but we were given such a warm welcome (with scones), and our room was so comfortable and modern. The bathroom was total bliss. We were made to feel right at home. Highly recommended.

A great place to stay for anyone on the West Highland Way (or for anyone at all, really!). Makes a perfect first night stop, very convenient, easy to find (you can't miss it as you walk in to town), close to a shop and good pubs for an evening meal. Frances and Johnny are great hosts (the cup of tea on a wet day was much appreciated) and are very informative on the area and the hike ahead. I stayed in the bunkhouse and it's as good as I've stayed in; big, bright, loads of room, comfy beds ... Breakfast was excellent too. I couldn't recommend the place highly enough, especially, as I said, for anyone looking for a first night's stop on the West Highland Way.

I stayed there while starting the west highland way. We were met with a very warm welcome and also a cup of tea and some freshly made scones - what a welcome! The old converted church is stunning. We were upstairs in the bunkhouse and can not fault it at all. Frances brought our continental breakfast upstairs for us in the morning, great start to our morning. They did so much and much much more to make our stay the as pleasant and welcome as they possible could. Everything is so clean and fresh with an amazing shower! My only fault would be is that we only stayed for one night, will definately be going back!

While walking the highland way we accidentaly walked past our campsite and ended up looking for accomodation in Drymen. We got recommended to go to the bunkhouse Kip in the Kirk.
This is a church turned into B&B / bunkhouse.
Depending on your budget you can choose to stay in the bunkhouse or in one of the two en suite B&B rooms in the church.
We went for the B&B (65 pounds incl. breakfast for two). The room and bathroom/toilet leave nothing to be desired. Good beds, spacious bathroom and bedroom. Everything spic and span. Later on we stayed in other bunkhouses and B&B's and nothing in the same price range even came close to this one. There also is a modern spacious joint kitchen and sitting / tv-room.
Both of these also leave nothing to be desired. Around the corner (400 ft) is the town centre with all the pubs. The owners do everything in their power to make your stay as pleasant as comfortable, they also made a luxurious continental breakfast of fresh fruit, freshly baked croissants and other good stuff like chocolate bun, yoghurt, juice, coffee, tea, cereals and pretty much everything you can wish for. They, however, do not offer a scottisch or english breakfast.
Top place to be, Frances and her husband make you feel at home. On arrival they baked a fresh scone for us an a cup of tea. They also took the time for a long chat.
Top place! You can't go wrong if you stay here!

Room Tip: if there is two of you go for the b&B instead of the bunkhouse, for 20 pounds extra you don'...

Hello Campers

Thank you so much, we really appreicate it when our guests take time to write the reviews.

It is disappointing to hear that accommodation is not such good value further along the walk. We can only hope, that, with guests having the opportunity to make constructive comments via Trip Advisor, owners and managers will be able to address the various issues raised and help improve guest experiences. The West Highland Way is an amazing business opportunity for many and many businesses embrace this opportunity. It is natural in any economic situation that visitors look for good value, quality and high standards of service. There is no reason why the West Highland Way should offer anything less. I hope that one day visitors on the WHW will be able to write nothing but great comments about their adventure.

In the meantime we will continue to offer the best hospitality that we possibly can.

Thanks again
