Like everyone else our stay was excellent down to the weather (in July) which was absolutely perfect. We stayed in the barn as it was my wife and I and our two boys (9 and 7) and this was perfect for us. We only stayed one night but would have loved to stay more if our itinerary permitted. Colin was a fabulous host down to directions to the local hospital for our youngest as he scared himself choking on his meal the previous evening. All in all a wonderful stay thank you.

Room Tip: We stayed in the barn which we would recommend for families or small groups.

A group of four of us stayed here over the August bank holiday. Colin and Scott could not be better hosts - they were warm and welcoming and made the stay fantastic. Their knowledge of the local area is excellent and they helped us plan a great few days away. The rooms were lovely and the breakfasts absolutely delicious!

Wonderful welcome, excellent room, plenty of breakfast - what more can I say?

I would recommend this B&B to anybody, particularly those on the West Highland Way. The owner understands walkers and can dry boots etc if necessary.

Excellent B&B. Colin was welcoming and very helpful. He booked a meal for us at the pub opposite and made sure that all the West Highland Way walkers staying there knew where to go (apparently quite a few don't and don't even carry a map). Pity about the weather but you can't have everything!

Fab location, warm welcome, superb breakfasts, beautiful decor. Fantastic base to explore Loch Lomond and the West Highland Way. We walked, cycled, kayaked and each night came home to our comfy B&B for a restful night. Thoroughly recommend it!

My wife and stayed at Braeside in early August at the end of day 1 of the WHW. We were warmly welcomed by Colin on our arrival with tea/coffee and biscuits. Our room was modern/bright and spotless and very tastefully decorated. The guesthouse is in an excellent location with 3-4 pubs very close by. I would thoroughly recommend Braeside to anyone thinking of staying in Drymen.

We stayed at this is an excellent little B&B on our last night of a "Tour" of Scotland. We had booked a couple of weeks in advance, and they only had a twin room available. Although a double would have been preferable, we wanted to stay at this B&B due to the reviews on here, so we booked the twin room.

We arrived in the early evening and had a warm greeting from Colin. He showed us to our room, which was actually situated in the annex and not in the main house, but this was fine with us. The room was small and compact, but had the two single beds, a small TV and an en suite bathroom in it. Immediately outside of our room was a small kitchen with tea and coffee making facilities and there was also a second room across the hallway. Colin showed us around and left us to settle in, inviting us over the lounge in the main house should we need him for anything. The room itself was well appointed and nicely decorated and the guys had used what little space is available very cleverly. The bathroom was a good size, with an over the bath shower.

We settled in and unpacked a few items that we needed. The car parking was directly outside of the annex, which was really handy for us. We then headed out for a bite to eat. Not really knowing much about the village of Drymen, we called into the lounge to ask Colin and Scott their advice of where was good to eat. They gave us a couple of suggestions in the local vicinity. We chose to eat at the newly opened Drymen Inn, which was around the corner from the B&B and were not disappointed (I will review this separately).

After dinner, we went back to the main house and sat in the lounge. It was so cosy in there with the fire on and the TV. Colin sat with us a while and chatted about the local area and the various activities, etc in the area. There is a table in the lounge with flyers and information on it and he showed us what was on, what was nearby, etc. We chatted about the B&B and he was telling us how long they had been open for and their plans for the imminent redecoration of it (we were actually the last guests that they were having before closing for refurbishment). We could not pick up a signal for the internet in the annex, so Colin gave us their wi-fi code and we were able to check emails, etc in the lounge. The guys have a separate lounge that they use themselves, and so they left us to watch TV while they had dinner.

We soon retired to bed and had a great nights sleep. The beds were really comfortable and it was so peaceful. We didn't have the need to use the small kitchen here as we got back late and were having breakfast before heading straight off the following morning.

The following morning, we packed up and packed our car before heading into the main house for breakfast. Colin was in the kitchen preparing breakfast with a lady, who we found out helps out with the breakfasts and the house keeping. I ordered a cooked breakfast, but my partner really wanted a bacon sandwich, and although this was not on the menu, it was not a problem for Colin and he asked if he wanted brown or white bread and if he would like sauce on it. We were invited to help ourselves to cereal and fruit, which were on the units to the side of the dining room. The cooked part of our breakfasts arrived shortly after and were delicious.

Through talking to Colin, we found out that a lot of the guests here stop over while on the WHW, I think we were one of the few that were not on this trek!

This really is a great little B&B and Colin and Scott were great hosts. Whether you are stopping here on holiday like us, or overnight as part of the WHW, you will not be disappointed with your stay!!
