A lunch outing with relatives to Drymen exceeded expectations. The weather was attrocious (beginning of April) and I didn't know how busy it would be since we didn't book. We entered through the small gift shop on the main street and were made very welcome at a big table. The staff were very friendly and helpful without being overbearing. They provided a jug of water and nothing was too much bother.

We ordered salads and a baked potato which came with lots of garnish, mouthwateringly inviting even before picking up a knife and fork. As the main course was satisfying enough for so we went on to coffee. There was no pressure for us to hurry so we had a great social occasion.

In the summer there is a conservatory at the back with vines growing and I can imagine it gets busy. It may also get hot. Perhaps poorer weather is the best time to go? Would definitely go back.

A superb little shop with a great selection of gifts and souveneirs. I would have bought the whole shop if I'd have had the money.

We went here to bypass the full breakfast option at the B&B. I had the "1/2 Killer" which is a scaled down version of the full Scottish Breakfast (the "full Killer) and my wife had scrambled eggs on toast. Both were nice mid-sized breakfasts and just what we wanted. Friendly, comfortable, fairly priced and good service. It did not open until 9:30 I believe but we had a short day to walk that day on the WHW. We ate in the rear dining area (around the back on the main level) which had a nice fire for the chilly morning.

They didn't have our first or second choice of order for lunch and when the food came it was the same quality you would get from the local burger van but with the hefty price tag of £10 each and that didn't even include drinks. Not the standard of food I expected for the price, on the plus side the staff member who served us was friendly and apologetic.

We are very sorry to hear that you were unhappy with your meal at The Drymen Pottery. However our meals are far from 'Burger van quality' as all our burgers come from the local butcher and the rest of our meat is Highland beef. We only run out of things because everything is cooked from fresh, and after a busy day these things happen. Our portions are big and of great quality ...so well worth the money.
