foxglove cottages are amazing. We were welcomed by the friendly owner who took time to speak to us and give us any information we needed. Great sized cottage all very clean, lovely four poster bedroom with great sized ensuite with spabath/jacuzzi, also had a flatscreen in the room with sky! Sauna was also great! Was soo relaxing. Kitchen was lovely with dining table and everything that you would need&more -even a coffee machine! Utility room with freezer, washing machine even clothes horse. Really nice decor and lovely ornaments. its just brilliant for a romantic weekend or family gatherings. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will defnetly be back and recommending it to all of our friends. We even had complimentary wifi and chocolates awaiting us.

just back from foxglove cottages&what a treat it was,the cottage had three bedrooms although it was only my wife&i, one of the other bedrooms was made available to us as well so we could use the double shower even though we had the spa bath bath as our en-suite.The sauna was also a treat 10 mins in there then the same in the spa bath then back again, anyone who thinks Scotland is always cold this will thaw you out.Ihave given full marks to the location as well even though it is out in the country we knew that when we we booked & you will sleep like a baby because of the peace & quiet also most people travel by car anyway to this part of scotland. The owner also left enough info regarding places to visit,to eat out & takeaways.I have stayed in 5* hotels but never one that had your own sauna & for the sports mad fans among you there is the full sky sports package (apologies to the wives & girlfriends) enjoy.

Read glowing reviews on another website, Foxglove almost lives up to them. Six adults stayed, plenty of room, well equipped to a high standard. In a very pleasant location. BUT --- if a cottage is marketed as 3 bed, 3 bath, all bathrooms should be able to function simultaneously. We discovered the uncomfortable way that if the downstairs bath taps are turned on, the water supply to the upstairs shower dries up ! Mentioned this to owner, who claimed it had never happened before, and couldn't understand why ! But did nothing about it. Hmm. We tested the supply at varying times of the day and the same thing always happened.
Also there are a lot of " dos and don't " notices posted. Including " please put out all rubbish on departure, and if oven left dirty there will be a £10 cleaning charge " ! As the laminated notice to this effect was actually inside the oven, god job we noticed it before turning oven on! Only one oven mitt supplied ( health and safety issues ? ) and only one tea towel ( health and hygiene ).
The promised " shortbread on arrival " was a plate of cheap marshmallows.
You may think I am picky, but to merit " luxury " all aspects have to be of superior standard.
Do go there but bear these comments in mind.

We would like to take the opportunity to thank this guest for recommending other guests to stay and enjoy the facilities that receive glowing reviews.

On arrival this guest was served a complimentary “genuine Scottish icon” – sadly she did not recognise it as such, the famous “more than a Scottish phenomenon” individually wrapped Tunnock’s tea cake being described as a “cheap marshmallow”. (“Ouch Mr Tunnock” – we still think you are wonderful!)

As a dish washer is provided most guests do not use the tea towel provided. Prior to arrival this guest was offered to be supplied with as many tea towels as she wished but she declined the offer.

It is standard across the self catering industry that accommodation is left clean & tidy, including guests removal of their food and other debris from the accommodation prior to their departure.

We have not experienced any issues with water pressure. The system runs at full street pressure with all bathrooms working perfectly.
