“Best ever”
Reviewed December 15, 2012

This was a gift voucher my husband received from our daughter as a birthday present as he had mentioned a few times how he would like to have a meal there. We were not dissapointed it was excellent. The setting was lovely and as it was not a huge restaurant it felt very intimate with very good friendly service. The food was probably the best I had tasted. I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

“Excellent food and ambience”
Reviewed November 18, 2012

This was probably the best Sunday lunch I have ever had! There were four of us and we tried most of the menu between us. The roast pork was delicious and we had a choice of loin (which I had) and belly pork (which I didn't).
The wine read and white was excellent too.

“Great food in a great location”

Fantastic food - different to anything else around. Experimental dishes, far from the crowds, this is true Scottish food tourism and should be visited at least once if you like you food.

“My idea of heaven”
Reviewed October 19, 2012

Having driven the long drive through the rain from home and expecting sunshine for a long walk with the dog the rain was still pouring down on arrival at this small piece of heaven at the end of a 4 mile single track road. So the plan was park, go in for coffee and a heat at the open log fire, then brave the lovely Scottish weather for an hours walk with the dog. The dog was welcomed to sit and enjoy coffee in the lounge.. Not literally .. He is very clever and human like but not to that extent although if he could I'd imagine he wld choose a macchiato.. Stylish beast he is.. He even had a brief encounter with a lovely chestnut spaniel and shared a brief kiss.. So we had coffee, went for a lovely walk along the loch for a bit and then back for a bowl of cauliflower soup drizzled with a blue cheese and walnut oil... Delicious. Sandwiches served on homemade bread with the most amazing carved gammon joint on some and smoked salmon on the others.. The bread was so fantastic we asked if it was possible to buy some to take home, which was offered willingly after checking there was sufficient baked to last the night for the full restaurant expected .. Nice touch.. Then some lovely pic poul wine just rounded off this almost perfect day.. So much so the weather was not an issue for us.. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Nothing is a bother. So refreshing these days to get excellent quality food and service in the same place with the added benefit of views to die for from the conservatory overlooking the loch.. This is my idea of heaven this place.. Not cheap but definitely cheerful..
