Stayed at Monachyle Mhor Hotel in October last year and visited again for lunch in November.. Popped in here but was too busy and didn't stay.. So decided to go for brunch this weekend.. Not disappointed.. Took lots of photos and enjoyed people watching while awaiting a cooked breakfast and pot of tea followed by some homemade cakes.. Also sampled a glass of house wine.. Staff friendly and warm cosy atmosphere .. Looking forward to a trip back soon..

Stopped for lunch on the first visit and was a little disappointed about the cost of food. Came back for a 2nd visit when they had a local group playing local music. Dinner was priced OK, well presented and cooked to order. Lovely big fire!

Love, love, love this place & cannot wait to go back. I stayed over at MHOR 84 with a friend and my dog and we ate and drank in the bar, twice.
We were made to feel very welcome in the bar area by staff and locals, it really does feel like you are visiting someone's house, in a good way. The menu was very good lots to choose from, in the end we had sourdough bread (amazing) with olive oil and balsamic, served in China tea cups to start, followed by lobster, chips and salad & my friend had the haddock and chips. We cleared both our plates. The haddock was pure white and fell away when you touched it with your cutlery. The lobster was cooked to perfection and tasted very fresh. The wine list was interesting and not overly expensive. We opted for a French rosé which went well with our meal. The atmosphere was great in the bar and before we knew it the time had flown by and it was 11.30pm - we had been in there since 6.30!
Next day after a long way along the Rob Roy Way we headed back in for brunch. This time we had the big breakfast, followed by a slice of Victoria sponge and the biggest hazelnut and chocolate meringue I've ever seen! All the cakes had been baked and delivered that morning.
Our brunch went on for a couple of hours and we watched the comings and goings in the bar and restaurant & although it was busy the staff did not hurry us along to turn the table over, which was really good.
I love a peppermint tea and was really glad it was a decent brand, Mighty Leaf, it makes such a difference. Plus the fact they serve tea in bone china cups and saucers.
I would make the trip from Edinburgh just for lunch, it was that good.

We stopped in here on our way up north - it was really busy so we guessed it would be ok. The food it delicious - I had a burger, which was by far the best burger that I've had in years - if not ever - home made and well seasoned - served with beetroot and pickle as all burgers should be (make sure you add cheese too). My boyfriend had the sirloin which was also lovely - cooked as requested and a really big portion. Pudding looked really good but we didn't have space for more....
Nice atmosphere but the seating is "shabby chic" so I wouldn't really recommend it for if you love a really comfy seat - other than that definitely go! Now!
