We didn't have a dog - just a cuddly baby!! When we visited there were 5 dogs with assorted owners, all well behaved. There are lots of dog related treats for sale and even the chair seat pads have a canine theme. We has coffees, tea and cakes, and water for baby's bottle. My caramel and apple pie was delicious - try it! The staff were all friendly, the cafe quirky and such a good idea. We were very amused at the dogs on their leashes in the corner! We don't intend to get a dog, but will return to DUG cafe on our next trip to Balloch.

We called in here for a cuppa on a grey, misty, soaking wet January day....I'd read about this doggy friendly place in a leaflet in our holiday accommodation and as we had our fat jack Russell with us and we hate to leave her behind we thought we would check it out. Our pot of tea for two was huge...great value for money...and we had a couple of cakes which were lovely...as big animal lovers this type of place would always appeal to us and it didn't dissapoint. There are some pet related goodies to buy which are displayed on a couple of tables in the cafe....I do think they could expand that idea more and offer a much wider range of treats especially if some small local independent supplier could supply them with some organic pet treats which seem to be hugely popular here in England. We really enjoyed our visit and will certainly be back.....staff were lovely as well....couldn't fault anything at all...give it a go you will enjoy it and the view was amazing out over the lock...even with the mist rolling by.

Great at aiming a place at dogs instead of dogs just being accepted in places.

Liked that there were towels, water and bowls of treats for dogs. Great idea having the gates to make sure they couldn't escape.

Good prices, lovely views and friendly staff. Would have liked bit more choice on cakes but what we had was good.

Keep up the good work and hope more places like it pop up!

This is the most amazing idea and about time too that it is now considered acceptable to dine out with your furry friends! We love this place as does our pampered pooch and if you haven't been, with or without a dog get yourself along soon. Laura & Eddie and all at Team DUG make everyone so welcome and you feel you have known them forever. The service is excellent and place is spotlessly clean. It is so lovely just to be able to have a nice drink or a bite to eat and not have to leave pooch at home. The DUG cafe has such a a relaxed feel it is quickly becoming our local!
