Have just got back from visiting here today and can say that we left feeling ripped off. We went with our toddler son and booked online costing £16.38 for 2 adults (son went free). There is no flow to the aquarium and we only came across 1 staff member while there (rock pool lady who was lovely). Building looks impressive but we couldn't believe it when we were told that the aquarium was all on level 1, we were round in 20mins. They do talks and feeding every hour or so but I'd be amazed if anyone could string it out for an hour. The film shown in the cinema is not aimed at kids and when we went in there wasn't a soul - or staff member there. They need to seriously improve this place and id suggest they invest in some maps as although its all on 1 floor, there are a lot of dead ends and nooks and crannies, we went through a door and ended up in gift shop. Full on the door price is over £13, save yourself the money and head to Queensferry Sea World!
Thank you for your review and we are really sorry to hear that you felt your visit wasn’t good value for money. Our ticket allows you to come in and out of the aquarium all day so if you wanted to see particular talks and feeds you are able to come and go as you please. We are in the process of getting new directional signage put in as we have made a lot of changes to the layout of the aquarium so hopefully this will help customers during their visit. As for our staff members due to our visitor numbers at this time of year we can’t really justify having any more than one person in each department. Obviously in our busier periods we have more staff on in each area. The film in our cinema is part of our conservation work and isn’t really aimed at smaller children although most of them do seem to enjoy it, the film just plays on a loop all day so there is no need for a staff member to be present and customers can go in and out as they please. As I said directional signage is being put in place but the flow of the aquarium takes you out at the gift shop at the end of the tunnel. I’m sorry that this visit was a disappointment to you but we would hope that you would visit again when all the changes are in place and hopefully see an improvement.
