“A lovely place to stay!!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 17, 2009

I stayed here with my mum, dad and 3 year old daughter. Bedrooms were lovely and clean as were the en-bathrooms. The spacious rooms had everything needed in them, tea & coffee, T.V., hairdryer, comfortable bed etc. The staff were very friendly and the meals were very nice - I'll definately be back!!!

My family and I, (2 teenage girls) stayed here from Friday to Monday. We got a 3 nights for the price of 2 with continental breakfast included.
Check-in was very efficient, we were in our room within 5 minutes of arrival.
The room itself was a bit shabby with a fold down bed for the girls and a double for us. The shower was in need of a lick of paint.
The meals in the lounge were excellent. Large helpings, delicious and great value for money. Breakfast was adequate. Plenty of choice and enough to set you up for the day.
The best asset this hotel has is its location, right on the banks of the river and a 5 minute walk to the banks of the loch. It is within walking distance of the shores shopping complex and the boat trips on the loch are just across the river.
Summing up, you get what you pay for and for £130 for three nights, we weren't expecting the Ritz.

My husband & I stayed here last May bank hol for 3 nights. It was a complimentary stay including food & drinks following a disasterous stay at another Innkeepers Lodge in Devon (but that's another story...).
We requested a room which overlooked the loch & that was what we got, The room was confortable with all the usual facilities. I agree that the stairs are a bit treacherous though, especially with luggage.
The inn is lovely with a great selection of food & drink very reasonably priced. From check in through to check out the staff were fantastic; always friendly, efficient & eager to help. Even when the kitchen "ran out of food" on an exceptionally busy Bank Hol Monday we were still offered a meal as residents.
Breakfast is continental but there is lots of choice (waitress a bit surly though, the only member of staff that was).
The location is excellent, really relaxing, with the station with direct line to Glasgow less than 5 minutes walk away. A couple of small shopping centres are within easy reach & there is a Co-op supermarket. There are local pubs & restaurants if you want a change from the inn.
All in all I would recommend to stay here for a few nights as a wekend break or if you are touring Scotland.
Go on...give it a go!

Stayed here for 6 nights with my mum and son. The room was comfortable and clean, but a bit dark as it overlooked other rooms and a rooftop. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was good, but would have loved bacon and eggs! Pub food was good with a selection of wines.
Good location for touring, lovely spot right next to river.
The only problem we had was the stairs, mum is disabled and found the curving stairway a nightmare.

Stayed one night for a family birthday. Excellent staff - friendly & helpful. Service fantastic even though they were short staffed the night we were there. Bedrooms clean & comfortable. Tea/coffee & biscuits in room - hairdryer - fab shower. Only downside no lift for erderly people. We were in a party of 4 - 70, 67,46 & 46. Although this was not a great problem for the older people in our party - it could be for some who find climbing stairs a problem. Overall would highly reccommend.

2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 1, 2008

We stayed here for one night in August. Our room smelled musty and we had to call the front desk to request soap for the bathroom. The bed was the most uncomfortable bed we slept in during our trip to Scotland. All that said, the pub here is quite good and we had an excellent meal. If I had it to do again, I would eat dinner at the pub, but stay elsewhere.

Stayed here for one night and given a "single" room with single bed. The rate was the same as a double room - £75. The room was very small, smelt musty, had poor, dim lighting. A shower/toilet which had no soap/shower gel, and the toilet didnt flush properly. All in all very disappointing stay.
