The Balloch House is a very warm and friendly hotel bar, with warm and friendly staff and slightly quirky rooms (mine had a definite slope down from the window to the door !). The prices are very reasonable and the food is consistently hot, hearty and very tasty - an altogether good experience and one that I will undoubtedly repeat !

We were out for a drive and happened to stop off at the Inn for some lunch . The meal was great and the staff and Inn were so inviting that when we got home we booked a night away at the Inn . When we returned we weren't disappointed , the room ,number 5 , had a loch view and was clean , warm , inviting and well appointed . There are lovely walks of the loch and the river Leven right on your doorstep and there is loch cruises just over the bridge at the Inn . We had a late lunch which again was great and reasonably priced the wine menu was also very nice :-) . Next morning we had a continental breakfast which was included in the room rate and there is also an option to have a cooked breakfast at a nominal charge ,we found the continental breakfast was enough . There is a log burning fire in the lounge which give a great atmosphere at night for another wine sampling , there is also highly recommend cask ales and whiskeys . We would highly recommend this Inn and we will definitely be returning .

We were just passing through for one night. This was a quintessential quaint inn, right on the river. The room was fine and the restaurant good, although the service was a bit slow. Two potential drawbacks: the building seems quite old, so there are little steps and stairs everywhere, which was a bit hard on my 82-year old mother, but manageable. Also, we wanted to get an early start, but the breakfast wasn't set up yet, so we had to skip it.

This B&B has the best location in Balloch, our family room was overlooking the Leven and the views and stunning ! The B&B itself is very warm and welcoming, the rooms & bar/restuarant are very cosy & family friendly. Spent two nights and would definitely go back or recommend. Only drawback was the inclusive continental breakfast, which was not very continental without cheese or meats but can make do without that for 2 days.

Room Tip: Definitely get the river view rooms

We stayed here for 2 nights while completing Ben Lomond, our final Munro. We had a family room, very spacious and with a lovely view over the river.Unfortunately the double bed was extremely uncomfortable and one of the walls showed some signs of water damage. However the staff were very helpful, friendly and attentive. The buffet breakfast was excellent as was the menu choice and food quality in the restaurant. Also, the hotel is in a perfect location.

I stayed here for one night whilst in the area on business room was warm, clean and comfortable. The en-suite was very clean too, and the shower was excellent. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bed linen fresh.

The restaurant prices were fair, and the food was of a good quality. The only issue was that drinks and meals could not be added to the room bill, which was a little inconvenient.

The location was excellent.

Spent two nights here for a short break only 65 miles from home. Good car parking , a genuine and friendly welcome at check-in. I seem to specialise on getting the "bin view/kitchen extractor fan" rooms wherever I go so no surprise there though. The room itself a bit dated and could do with a freshen up, but warm and comfortable, decent bed, big sofa, plenty of wardrobe/storage space. Shower only and this would be a wee criticism - the showerhead was cracked so "rough " to the touch and should be replaced. We breakfasted both mornings, a reasonable selection of cereals etc, and again very friendly and welcoming staff. Dinner on the first night was tasty - Wednesday is speciality pie night, highly recommended! Note however that nothing can be charged to rooms. Pub itself is a lovely, traditional, wooden-beamed and open-fired place, cosy and comfortable for some good old-fashioned food.
Handy location, minutes walk from the Loch shore - and a special word for the ladies in the nearby tourist information office who were very enthusiastic and knowledgeable.
Overall a worthwhile and handy base for a short break when exploring the area.

Room Tip: Room 10 - the bin view with the noisy extractor fan outside - must be the only one without either a...
