I thoroughly enjoyed 2 nights in this classic inn.
The room pricing was a little higher than I would have preferred, but then I didn't booked ahead, I just walked in!
The service was great, rooms beautiful (mine had a view of the Lake), and the breakfast excluded was more than generous.
Couldn't get the wifi working, but that was only because I entered my phone number for the SMS code incorrectly. So if you have an international phone, insure you get the country code of internationally calling correctly entered when logging into the wifi.

Location is ideal. 2 minute walk from the train station and the information centre and in the other direction a 5 minute walk from a supermarket. The Loch is right on your door step as are a range of cafes and bars.

Large shopping centre, cafes and tourist activities just a 15 min walk or 5 min drive from the Inn. This complex is combine with the Loch aquarium... Well worth a look.

But if you are just up to relax the Balloch Inn is also perfect. I really enjoyed their bar and lounge, great atmosphere at any time of the day.

I could say Balloch House was one of our local restaurants in the old office and used to be a regular. There were times when the quality of the food was up and down during the past years, but it seems it stabilized recently and it is definitely worth its money. I like the whole building since it has a sense of old, but well maintained about it. The rooms are just OK, but what it is really worth a visit and a revisit and so on is the ambient of the restaurant, especially in the winter time when the fire is on the fireplace. There is just something soothing about it... And on beautiful summer days (which are few and far between :-(), the bear garden at the back of the hotel is a perfect place for a drink and a little bite. Definitely the best stopover place in Balloch!

Room Tip: Choose a room that is at the back of the hotel, off the street and overlooking the river and the Cou...

This is a nice inn, with reasonably priced nice food. The room we had for 2 nights was very nice and spacious and it had a sofa bed that could be made up if you needed. The bathroom was spacious and clean and the shower was hot and fairly powerful, no bath. The phone didn't work in the room when we wanted to phone for an iron and ironing board and the hairdryer overheated after a short while but the supervisor quickly allowed my wife to use the hairdryer in the adjoining room. Staff were nice and helpful. The bed was a bit soft for me but I would stay here again. A continental breakfast is included in the room rate and it was fine but I would have liked some cold meats and cheeses and slices of pepper etc. You can pay extra for hot cooked breakfast (I think a cooked breakfast should be offered/included in the rate). The annoying thing really was with the advance payment rate that we booked 2 months in advance. We thought the payment had gone through on our credit card but it turns out that even though we got the lower advance payment rate, the hotel only takes payment on arrival! This would have been nice to know in advance but it was not nice to discover our weekend budget was going to be 138 pounds extra than we thought (should probably have checked that payment had gone through but anyway). The area around Balloch and Loch Lomond is nice and we will definitely visit again.

Room Tip: Some rooms have steps down in to them. We had a riverside room which would be a little quieter as wo...

I stayed here just for a luch with a friend of mine during a visit in Balloch.
The atmosphere is very nice and warm and the fireplace with fire in the middle of the room was absolutely amazing, like our lunch: steak with mushrooms and potatoes vith beer. Really really good, like the presentation of the dishes as well. Waiters friendly and polite. Price ok.
I suggest it

Stayed on the 28 oct for four night,s the Manager and staff could not have been more helpful We asked if it was possible to have a room with a lock veiw This was done right away while we had a drink in the Bar although the staff are young they were very confident and alway,s had a smile for you and very informative about The local area .And are a credit to the managr Paul who was on hand 24/7. The Hotel is right beside the loch With pleasure crusies runing by the Hour And a ten minute Walk bring.,s you to A large shopping outlet The hotel it,s self is very cosy with a big roaring log fire in the bar area And a fairsized resturant. Stayed to eat in the hotel the whole stay The food was very good and a reasonable price and was busy every night This is the first time that we have stayed in a Inn keeper,s inn and if this is the general standerd of the of care and attention that we came across it is a credit to the Brand also an ideal base for Glasgow and edinburgh and the rest of scotland .Breakfast inculded but a choice of five other breakfast, for a small charge And all we saw A happy well maintained Ship

Whilst passing through Balloch last week, we dined here. It was cosy and very good food. The service was a bit slow as they were very busy with, I guess, not enough waiting staff. But overall we really enjoyed our evening and would consider staying here if we are passing this way again.

We stayed in room number 7. It overlooked the main road and was noisy. We would reccomend asking for a loch view room. The room was comfy enough, quite small. Only had a shower, no bath. Breakfast was included but only continental, full scottish breakfast was an additional £6.99! On a positive note the pub downstairs is lovely, open fire, nice food and good wine and beer.
