“A Hidden Gem overlooking Loch Long”
Reviewed March 30, 2014

We stayed here 3 years ago and loved it, returned for an overnight stay and it is even better. Set back and elevated, the Village Inn hosts a manageress who is so passionate in the overall running of this Inn, from the beautiful themed coordinating decor of: tartan, thistles, stags sympathetically blending with a modern twist but still rustic. Roaring welcoming fires and candles create a homely atmosphere The food was excellent quality, fresh, reasonably priced and served by a team of happy, friendly and professional waiting on staff. Breakfast was the best we have had whilst staying on Loch Lomond. Bedrooms were spotless and warm with tea coffee and biscuits and the bathroom was well appointed. The views are of Loch Long the Arrrochar Alps with the Cobler. Congratulations to the Village Inn for providing a first class service, you should be so proud of what you offer, wish we could have stayed longer.

Absolutely loved the Inn. Such a beautiful location and only 5/10 min drive away from Loch Lomond. On the banks of Loch Long the Inn is so inviting after a day exploring the area. I asked for the "Dinosaur Ribs", and, even though they were not on the menu that night, I was served the biggest, juiciest, ribs ever! Also, the breakfast selection was fresh and humongous.

Room Tip: Try and get a room with a view of Loch Long.

I didn't stay here, but I did eat here quite often during my week in Arrochar, and it's by far the best dining option in the area, with regard to both atmosphere and food. The restaurant is delightfully cozy -- the phrase 'rustic chic' comes to mind -- and the food is quite good. In particular, the gourmet beef burger is juicy and flavorful, and the homemade tablet cheesecake is light and fluffy. The servers are genuinely warm, though they can be a bit scattered and hard to flag down when the restaurant is busy (which is understandable), and it often is. Do book a table in advance: though they'll do their best to accommodate you should you show up without a reservation, it's better not to chance it as the other dining options in Arrochar (and there aren't many) just can't compare.

Stayed for one night and would have happily stayed longer. From minute we arrived we had friendly, professional service. Food was excellent and room was clean, cosy and warm (maybe bit too warm) and loch facing which was huge bonus. Will definately be visiting again.

Its been a long time since I have received the level of service and care from all staff that we did at The Villiage Inn. We got an excellent rate and the staff were very helpful in putting up a bigger z-bed in our room for my 3yr old. This came with a teddy bear and a packet of biscuits tucked under his arm. The bedroom was small but the personal touches, beds and bed linen and bathroom were all 5 star quality. The selection and quality of the food once again wonderful. We felt really looked after the whole time we were there and cant wait to go back and take more people with us.
