My boyfriend and I stayed at The Village Inn for 2 nights during a road trip we were taking around Scotland and the north of England. We originally booked a twin room the day before arrival as it was a very spontaneous trip. The location of this hotel rivals the view you will get at Loch Lomond, absolutely amazing location for the view! Upon arrival we received a friendly greeting, and the place had a very warm and cozy feel. When the woman checking us in saw we were a couple she was able to get us into a double room which we were unable to get on booking.com. We received our (comically enormous) room key and were shown to our room. Everything was very nice and clean and had complimentary tea and chocolates in the room. We did some exploring driving around the area which was absolutely beautiful. We booked a table for dinner in one of their dining rooms with a fire place. The food here was surprisingly amazing, and one of the highlights of this hotel. The complimentary breakfast in the morning was delicious as well. We enjoyed our first night so much we decided to stay a second night, and luckly they were able to accomodate us and even keep us in the same room. The only part of this hotel that lets it down is that they seem a bit understaffed at times. There are 3 rooms to eat in. One where the kitchen entrance is, one with a cozy fireplace and the other with a bar. Unfortunately because of the location of the bar, if you are waiting for a drink nobody can see you. A few times we had to go and find a member of staff in order to get a drink which was frustrating. Other than that this b&b was lovely and we would definitely stay again!!
