What can we say,we agree with the comments from the (Beebonnet) review. as they wrote a very good review,so they said it all,and more.as we were on the same coach trip as them.we asked for and received one of the best views that we have ever had.
on the 4th floor, with a very large window to take in the View...so once again thank-you Loch & Glens.this was our 3rd trip, and looking forward to many more Lochs & Glens holidays....

Room Tip: Ask for a loch view.

The person that wrote a review before me Beebonnet said it ALL and they said everything that I would of said and they said it so well.....This was our 6th visit to a Lochs and Glens Hotel and Loch Long has the smallest rooms but very cosy and clean.....Off to the NEW Hotel Ardgarten in June 2013 and July 2014....But anyone out there who would LOVE a great holiday, give Loch Long and Lochs and Glens a go for EXCELLENCE nearly.....

Room Tip: Ask for Scenic Room, but all rooms are great.

Just returned from a 5 day trip with 'Lochs and Glens' staying at the Loch Long Hotel in Arrochar. Well this company 'sets the standard' when it comes to the short break, value holiday and it's hard to find anything at all negative to say bearing in mind the cost of the trip and what's included!
Where can you travel 860 miles return and stay in a three star hotel with full 3 course dinner and full breakfast every day to include three full day trips all for £146 !!! amazing value and these guys are a 'slick' operation in every way. Pick up and drops where 'bang' on time and the coaches were very comfortable and quite. The Hotels belonging to Lochs and Glens are not swish but clean, comfortable and totally 'fit for purpose' in every way. Our room was small but with Loch view and perfectly clean provided a perfect base for the peaceful overnight rest from the full days itinery. The bar was great value also, for eg: 2 x Gin and Tonic, Vodka and Tonic and a pint of Guinness for £10.80 !!! can't remember the last time I paid that for a round south of the border!! Credit to all the staff at the Loch Long (most of whom are in Scotland from abroad) they are so attentive and helpful and go out of thier way to serve you with standards we used to get many many years ago before the service industries 'standards' declined. The nightly entertainment was limited but enough to keep the bar lounge filled most evenings. Our driver (Robert) was informative and helpful at all times and added lots of facts and figures on our daily trips out, The food was not fancy but absolutely 'spot on' and served hot and promptly on all the sittings, the breakfast was brilliant and set you up for the daily trips.
The bad:
Not much really but the journey to and from Norfolk had three longs breaks each way (several over 1 hour) which we felt were too long, especially on the way home, but I guess the drivers are under certain regulations? Some of the day trips could have had more variety and perhaps a few more activites in the Hotel in the evenings may have added to the evening fun.
All in all, we are 'Lochs and Glens' converts and will most certainly visit again and stay at one of the other Hotels in the group and experience new trips to new places etc. Well done, it's totally refreshing that there are still companies out there who do care about thier customers and offer a service which is 'second to none' when all things are considered.

Room Tip: Get one with a Loch View if you can.

Wife and I together with 2 friends just returned from 5 day break in Loch Long hotel.
We have travelled on several other coach holidays with other coach firms but this is the best by far.
Hotel was scrupulously clean, service was brilliant, food as good as any hotel and the staff were not only very professional but very clean and smartly turned out.
Entertainment could possibly have been better but overall this hotel deserves a huge amount of praise and without doubt we shall be using Lochs and Glens coach holidays very often in the future.
In conclusion - overall as a percentage - 110%

Room Tip: We had rooms 319 and 320 both of which had lovely views of the Loch

Jusr returned from a 4 night stay in the Loch Long hotel from Lochs and Glens. Initialy the discription 'bugdet hotel' set alarm bells ringing however the hotel is small, cosy and warm. The decor is dated and the wallpaper a bit scruffy in places but is spotlesly clean. The mainly Eastern block staff couldnt do enough for us and remembered our drinks order from the night before. We were a lot younger than the usual clientel so the entertainment was not for us (guy on accordian, local girls dance school doing highland dancing {collecting donations after},guy on organ). There is a wonderful viewing room on the 4th floor which we found out about on the last day. Its a fabulous place to take photos from as the pamoramic windows are fantastic. Food is fine, breakfast a choice of cornflakes, bran flakes, prunes, porrage, orange juice followed by either full English (1 sausage, 1 rasher of bacon, half tomarto and a fried egg on fried bread) or a full English veggi option or scrambled eggs or boiled eggs.Toast was plentyfull and refilled without asking and marmalade was available on the table every morning along with your choice of tomarto or brown sauce after the first day. One tip, take your own tea bags for the room, the ones used were so weak eveyone complained and they doubled up on them in the teapots at meal times. Dinner was a starter main and a desert and coffee or tea served in the foyer. We had haggis (very tasty!) as a starter one night and a main the next as we'd got the taste for it! Starters we had included rumblethumps (Scottish bubble n squeek) carrot and also lental soup. mains roast turkey, roast pork with various combinations of boiled potates, carrots, peas and green beans. we also had pasta arabatia, white fish and haggis! Desserts were peach melba, icecream, cheese and crakers (could have done with some chutney and/or fruit) individual triffles. The meals are fine for the price, no complaints at all and a portion of french stick and butter was served at dinner time. The beds are really comfortable with good quality duvets and pillows and our room 119 was very spacious with a view sideways to the loch and mountains which you could see out the window from the bed.The bathroom looked to have been recently refurbished with a great power shower over the bath and the towels were soft, fluffy, plentiful and wonderfully warm thanks to a radiator in the bathroom. A none slip in bath mat is also provided and there are hand grips to help with getting in and out of the shower/bath. A hairdryer is available in the room so dont bother taking your own.Tea and coffee making facilities are provided and small soaps in the bathroom. There was a small pub over the road which was pretty souless, but probibly had a cracking view of the Loch during the day however we were out on trips and didnt get to see it in the light. At the very other end of the village we found a brill gastro pub, roaring log fire, real ale great victoriana vibe but if you have mobility issues its way too far away. We tried another 2 nearer hotels but the entertainment was on a par with ours and the drink prices dearer. Drinks prices are very reasonable in the hotel and they have a good selection of whiskys. The trips were really good (especialy the day in Glasgow and the tour of it for an extra £5). The cruise on the Loch was lovely on a bright but brisk day and our driver Dave had 30 years experience driving so was safe and reliable driving around the sometimes steep roads and bends. Tip, make sure your back when he asks otherwise European Laws regarding breaks kick in and you can end up adding extra time to the journey. This really is a great value holiday but would not be suitable if your under 60 years of age. Id say the average age at the hotel was was 65-75 and one fantastic lady was 90 and came with her 80 year old friend. Hi to Dot and Alan if your reading this, thanks for your company we had some lovely chats.

Room Tip: Ask for a loch view and try to get up and watch the dawn come over the mountain.
