Jusr returned from a 4 night stay in the Loch Long hotel from Lochs and Glens. Initialy the discription 'bugdet hotel' set alarm bells ringing however the hotel is small, cosy and warm. The decor is dated and the wallpaper a bit scruffy in places but is spotlesly clean. The mainly Eastern block staff couldnt do enough for us and remembered our drinks order from the night before. We were a lot younger than the usual clientel so the entertainment was not for us (guy on accordian, local girls dance school doing highland dancing {collecting donations after},guy on organ). There is a wonderful viewing room on the 4th floor which we found out about on the last day. Its a fabulous place to take photos from as the pamoramic windows are fantastic. Food is fine, breakfast a choice of cornflakes, bran flakes, prunes, porrage, orange juice followed by either full English (1 sausage, 1 rasher of bacon, half tomarto and a fried egg on fried bread) or a full English veggi option or scrambled eggs or boiled eggs.Toast was plentyfull and refilled without asking and marmalade was available on the table every morning along with your choice of tomarto or brown sauce after the first day. One tip, take your own tea bags for the room, the ones used were so weak eveyone complained and they doubled up on them in the teapots at meal times. Dinner was a starter main and a desert and coffee or tea served in the foyer. We had haggis (very tasty!) as a starter one night and a main the next as we'd got the taste for it! Starters we had included rumblethumps (Scottish bubble n squeek) carrot and also lental soup. mains roast turkey, roast pork with various combinations of boiled potates, carrots, peas and green beans. we also had pasta arabatia, white fish and haggis! Desserts were peach melba, icecream, cheese and crakers (could have done with some chutney and/or fruit) individual triffles. The meals are fine for the price, no complaints at all and a portion of french stick and butter was served at dinner time. The beds are really comfortable with good quality duvets and pillows and our room 119 was very spacious with a view sideways to the loch and mountains which you could see out the window from the bed.The bathroom looked to have been recently refurbished with a great power shower over the bath and the towels were soft, fluffy, plentiful and wonderfully warm thanks to a radiator in the bathroom. A none slip in bath mat is also provided and there are hand grips to help with getting in and out of the shower/bath. A hairdryer is available in the room so dont bother taking your own.Tea and coffee making facilities are provided and small soaps in the bathroom. There was a small pub over the road which was pretty souless, but probibly had a cracking view of the Loch during the day however we were out on trips and didnt get to see it in the light. At the very other end of the village we found a brill gastro pub, roaring log fire, real ale great victoriana vibe but if you have mobility issues its way too far away. We tried another 2 nearer hotels but the entertainment was on a par with ours and the drink prices dearer. Drinks prices are very reasonable in the hotel and they have a good selection of whiskys. The trips were really good (especialy the day in Glasgow and the tour of it for an extra £5). The cruise on the Loch was lovely on a bright but brisk day and our driver Dave had 30 years experience driving so was safe and reliable driving around the sometimes steep roads and bends. Tip, make sure your back when he asks otherwise European Laws regarding breaks kick in and you can end up adding extra time to the journey. This really is a great value holiday but would not be suitable if your under 60 years of age. Id say the average age at the hotel was was 65-75 and one fantastic lady was 90 and came with her 80 year old friend. Hi to Dot and Alan if your reading this, thanks for your company we had some lovely chats.

Room Tip: Ask for a loch view and try to get up and watch the dawn come over the mountain.

We have just returned from a 5 day holiday. This is our second time with Lochs and Glens. My wife and I would like to thank the company, for a fantastic value trip. Our room had fantastic views over the Loch, it was roomy, clean and comfortable. All the hotel staff were very attentive, polite, the whole service was fantastic. We really enjoyed the food, the variety and choice was very good, A big thank you to the manager and all the staff.
Our daily outings took us to see fantastic scenery, and Luke our driver was lovely, the time scheduals we good, we never felt rushed, although there were many things to see and do.

Room Tip: To have a room with a Loch view

Just spent 4 nights at the Lochs and Glens Hotel in Arrochar and it was just such a pleasure once again to be part of the Lochs and Glens tour.
After a long journey North we arrived late afternoon and were greeted by the welcoming staff, and with the minimum of fuss given our key, Our luggage was delivered to our room, which although small was beautifully clean and the bathroom immaculate, with the hotest water ever!!!! and we soon settled in.
With Lochs and Glens, the price of the holiday includes all excursions, and we had a great time exploring this part of Scotland. The food is really good and piping hot and served by the staff who were always helpful and smiling. The Hotel is warm and comfortable and the value for money is exceptional.
I have no hesitation in strongly recommending this wonderful company to anyone who wishes to see some of the best that Scotland has to offer, and all from the comfort of your own coach
This wasn't our first trip and I can truthfully say it won't be our last.

Once again another great coach holiday, hotel good and the staff excellent. Our room and bathroom were a bit small but had all the facilaties needed for our 5 day tour. The position of the hotel is very good and would be excellent for anyone on a self drive holiday. Entertainment ok. Trips out very good and varied.
Overall value for money excellent we would certainly use this hotel again and have no hesitation in recommending it..
