“A perfect base for walking”
Reviewed April 23, 2014

We stayed at Fascadail House for three nights over Easter when our walking group went to Arrochar. The welcome, room and food were all very pleasant and relaxing with good meals at the Village Inn an easy stroll down the street. The breakfast was served quickly and cooked perfectly. We were upgraded to a very spacious room and found the owners helpful and friendly. Lots of good mountain walks are to be found either from the door or a short drive away and the B and B garden has wonderful views along the loch. We may well stay again if we return to Arrochar.

Fascadail is a beautiful building and the hosts are equally accommodating. Great views, stylish rooms, excellent locally sourced high quality toiletries. Breakfast was delicious! You must take the hosts up on the suggestion on the village inn for diner, if they are busy you might have to wait in the bar, you should do this too the staff are friendly and entertaining. Perfect stay on Loch Long/Lomond.

*My only suggestion to the hosts would be to remove the ticking bedside clocks! We took our batteries out, which was easy enough (not an issue) but I had a little chuckle when I got up the next morning and noticed our neighbour's on the hall table.

Room Tip: Spring for the king room with the four-poster, so worth it!

We enjoyed a single night's stopover at Fascadail House as a stopover our way back from Skye; it was the perfect end to our holiday. We had booked a small room but were upgraded to a lovely spacious room which was beautifully furnished and decorated. As on our previous visit, we found that everything was spotlessly clean and the attention to detail impeccable. Breakfast was wonderful with a very good choice including fresh fruit and local produce. It was served in the elegant breakfast room that overlooks the garden, bird feeder and the ever changing views of the mountains, including Ben Arthur. One night is just not long enough in this lovely and very friendly guest house. Highly recommended.

We had the pleasure of staying at Fascadail House for 3 nights.
The location is perfect and so is the accommodation and breakfast.
The rooms are very comfortable, clean and well decorated with some lovely finishing touches such as the Loch Lomond toiletries, tea and coffee and a wonderful booklet that gives a history of the house, suggested eateries and places to visit.

The breakfast was amazing, cooked to order and the coffee was smooth to drink.

Nothing seemed to much trouble and we would strongly recommend Fascadail House.

we have just come back from a lovely stay at Fascadail house (March 2014), booked because they were doing a deal that was £100 for 2 nights. I think it was worth double that easily, the room was really nicely decorated, modern en-suite and a nice TV with freeview but also had traditional tartan curtains and throw, and a fireplace which all really went with the traditional style of the house. Also really comfortable bed and nice cotton sheets. shower pressure wasn't great but that is one of my pet peeves so may not bother others! Couldn't fault the breakfast - cereal/yogurt/ juices and cooked breakfast with tea/coffee.

The location was fine, there's nice views over Loch Long but only one decent pub in Arrachar - the Village Inn- which we went to on the first night but they had no room for us (2) and recommended making a reservation in future, so we ended up going to a pub 20 minutes drive away which was the next nearest place and not easy to find! so it was quite remote, but its a beautiful area and there's some nice walks which was great for us for a couple of nights.

Thanks for the extensive review. We agree with your comments re the places to eat in the village although as you discovered there are alternatives however many of these are about a 20 minute drive. In the summer months there is also a restaurant open in Tarbet the next village which is about 2 minute drive or a 20 minute walk.

We spent just one night here last week and received a lovely, warm welcome from Ann and Kevin. After a damp day on the Three Lochs Way, we were very pleased to have been given an upgrade to a lovely room with a deep bath, overlooking the beautiful garden, loch and mountains beyond. The room was decorated very tastefully, as was the rest of the house. The breakfast was delicious. We will definitely go back and would happily recommend this to anyone.

We spent 2 nights here and found everything to be of an excellent standard. The hostess Ann was warm, welcoming and free with helpful local information. The breakfast menu was varied and the food top quality with local produce being the feature. We thought that the cost was amazing value for money given the setting and the quality of the bedroom and the wonderful breakfast. We will certailnly visit again!

Room Tip: The four poster room has wonderful views and its own sitting room.
