Just got back from a four day trip with National Holidays. Stayed at the Claymore Hotel.
Enjoyed every minute of it. Rooms comfortable could have been a bit bigger for two, with the twin beds. Entertainment was good because we were in good company.

cost us £39 each for a last minute 1 night package. no one can complain about that. we had a good night, the evening meal was ok, had a few drinks, a good nights sleep & an enjoyable breakfast.like anywhere else, if you want to look for something to complain about, you will find it.

My partner and myself have just returned from a fantastic 5 days at the Claymore in Arrochar with National Holidays . our room was on the top floor with lovely views over part of the village and the loch.
The room was clean and very warm , we had fresh towels every day and the hospitality tray was kept full, we only had a bath but you can borrow a shower attachment from reception which does the job and LOADS of HOT WATER .
The dining staff were amazing, always smiling and very effiecient , I must draw attention to our waiter NANDOR who was just fantastic , he couldnt do enough for us and made us laugh .
Full marks also to the chef and his amazing menu, great choice of food, every meal was lovely and well cooked, definately worthy of 4 and 5 star
The reception staff were also really nice and helped us without hesitation and a smile whenever we asked about different things, and the bar staff were just the same they knew your order before you asked for it and served it with a smile, so full marks to the manager and all the staff at the Claymore.
If there was a black mark it would be that people were saving seats in the concert room by putting bags and coats on them before going in for their meal at 6 - 6.30 pm so those of us who had the later meal at 7 pm had no chance of ever getting a seat which I though was a little selfish and unfair of them , but it did not spoil our holiday as we found alternative entertainment, but maybe the management would like to take note.
This is our second time at this hotel and we shall definately be coming again and again,
Arrochar is a beautiful village with stunning views all around and so peaceful and this hotels grounds commands the most sensational views over Loch Long

Having spotted this four day break in the local paper we booked for a post Christmas trip and found the break was all we had anticipated and more. Very comfortable trip up there, excellent hotel location on the banks of Loch Long and brilliant facilities at this homely hotel. The meals were excellent, with the selection beyond anything we had hoped for and the service and friendliness of the staff was exceptional. The organised day trips were enjoyable, the scenery spectacular and the FREE bar for three hours a night made this superb value for money trip a no brainer. If you are considering staying at the Claymore and are looking to book through National Holidays then I can't recommend it highly enough! 5 Stars for everything bar the room, which was very good and nice and warm, (with on / off switches on the radiator to help you control the temperature), I marked the room down by one star as there was only a bath no shower, but that really didn't spoil or distract from the stay, however it would make sense to add a mixer tap or shower!
