Seven of us went to the Claymore for the second time. Again we can't complain about anything. Yes some of the bedrooms are 'a little tired' but beds /towels etc were clean. We had requested rooms together and we were not disappointed with lovely rooms overlooking the loch. All staff were very friendly and efficient. Entertainment good. Our National holidays driver Bill was a gem - he gave us loads of information on our days out. We will go back to this hotel again. Excellent value for money.

We have just returned from a 5 day break with National holidays to the Claymore Hotel Arrachar.
The Hotel was perfectly situated in the most beautiful location right on the banks of Lock Long. We paid the extra for a room with a view and found it worth every penny, opening the curtains every morning was breath taking.
The Hotel itself wasn't the Ritz but was good value for money, clean and well presented. The bar area was welcoming with the log burning stove and the entertainment room a good size for the nightly evening acts and bingo.
The dinning room was run well with several hard working waiter/ess's who were efficient and very polite. The food was good with plenty of choice.
The day trips we found to be quite draining, each one taking you away from the hotel for upto 7 hours. We oppted out of one and has a wonderful walk up Ben Arthur followed by a drink and meal at The Village Inn, left turn out of the Hotel and just up the road. Two blazing log fires and an excellent menu.
Thank you Claymore Hotel for a lovely stay. Enjoyed stroking the visiting Kitty cat too he was lovely.

Room Tip: Rooms with views recomended,

I booked a 5 day National Holidays break at this hotel via the Internet on Friday 08/03 and departed on Monday 11/03.On arrival I checked my allocated room 304 which for my needs was good ,it would it would have been good if it were not for the bath which with a loose panel and colour which was indescribable.
The hotel is located over looking Loch Long which unlike Loch Lomond has not been commercialised. The food is cooked well and portion size is just about right. I would like to mention that cheese is served in small packets which some people (arthritic) may find difficult to open The bar is limited for beer and larger and real ale drinkers will be better catered for at the Village inn approx.an approx. 5 min walk. I did not watch the entertainment provided nightly so obviously I will not comment on this except to say I did not hear negative comments The staff are excellent and unobtrusive. I have made some negative comments but I would have no hesitation of staying at this hotel again

My wife & mself did a 2 day excursion to the Claymore on Mothers day. The bedroom was not big but adequate for us. Some people with mobility problems may struggle with the toilet as it is very close to the shower unit. Meals were good but small portions. Again enough for us. Probably could have got more if we wanted it. Had a young lad on as entertainment & he was a good singer. Staff good as well. However, there was one down side. We had some adverse weather & the hotel was very cold in the bedroom & entertainment room. Only the bar was hot as it has a wood burning fire in it. As we had been here before in even worse weather we could not understand why the hotel was so cold. I think the heating is swithed off at certain times of the day & night. The hotel is in a scenic location & is a lovely hotel. Next time I think we will go when its a bit warmer. We were on the ground floor as we requested. Our room was 209. No scenic view out of the window but for 1 night it made no difference. For £39 each & 4 drink vouchers each we found this well worth it. Would reccomend this hotel.
