Arrived back last night after a 4 day trip. What a good time we had. We met some lovely people who agreed with us, this was over and above great value for money. The hotel is in a beautiful place in a little village with a lovely pub which does great lunches. Couldn't call the food at all in the hotel there were plenty of choices for starter, main meal and sweet courses. You also had choice of red or white wine which was on a tray in reception. Gret choice for breakfast too. Our driver was Doug who was very informative and knew all about the places he took us. His jokes kept us amused. I have been to lots of all inclusives and queues at the bar are quite normal. Some people only had a drink when the bar was free and that was the problem. The queue at 7 30 was massive but that didn't concern us we had already bought one so we just waited till it went down. When it was really busy there were four people serving. Our waiters name was Michael and he was very efficient. We will definately go again. Before I went I looked at the reviews and there was one which gave this hotel the worst report. I looked into this, and it was the second review this person had written and they were both really bad. One was from 2 weeks ago and the other from october. If it was so bad why the hell would you go back to hate it again???????????? All in all everything was fine. There are a few things that could make this hotel go from being good to being great. For the price you pay it's a real bargain.

It was our lucky day when we found this fabulous hotel right on the lochside.
The rooms are lovely well serviced easpecially if you have a loch view. Been a long time since I have been to a hotel with such friendly efficient staff. Menu was varied and well served with portions more than adequate. Bar staff extremely helpfull and hotel was very well run with management always available.
Unable to understand review re "Ultimate Hotel from Hell" this did not sound like the Claymore and I would doubt it could be the same hotel. Also can't understand why the person had to make a return visit to what he/she considered the "Ultimate Hotel from Hell"

My suggestion would be to read all of the excellent reviews and you will not be disappointed

Room Tip: Scenic view well worth the little extra cost

Visited here for the 3rd time in the last 12 months. All i have to say is for £84 x 2 = £168 for me and my wife, 3 days bed, breakfast and evening meals plus 3 hours free bar and trips out with National Holidays its a bargin. Yes its could do with a lick of paint and a tidy here and there but for what you pay its a bargin. I am going back in March for my birthday. Its best to wait for a last minute bargin on the internet with national holidays we only paid £84 each where as some of the guests had paid £99.

Thank you for your very kind comments. This is not the first time you visited us or the first time you have taken the time to post a review which is excellent for us to see. I know after your last visit you may have felt let down by what you had experiencedand for that I can only say sorry, we were also upset to see your comments as we were aware that you had previously commented on us so favourably. We are glad that this time we lived up to your expectations and reached a level that you again found excellent value for money. I am also very happy to see that you have rebooked for March for your birthday and hope you will have an equally good time if not better!!! Thank you so much and see you very soon

We went to The Claymore with National Holidays and stayed for 4 nights, arriving home last Friday (17th).
The room was basic but clean, the only thing letting it down was the hard lumpy bed and no shower, just a bath, but the view was quite spectacular, even though we hadn't paid extra for a scenic room!
The food was on the whole very good with plenty of choice, well served by our waitress, Angela who always had a smile to greet us with.
The free bar was excellent value and the queue was dealt with quickly. I upgraded my drinks so I could have Couvoisier brandy instead of some unheard of brand; well worth the 50p upgrade price!
The excursions were good, particularly the extra trip to Glasgow with an excellent guided tour by Don, who was drafted in to give our regular driver Joe a day off.
The evening entertainment was a bit hit and miss, but we enjoyed it all nevertheless.
The majority of the other guests were lovely, which was an unexpected bonus, and we even made friends with a few people that we will stay in contact with!
On the whole, it was an excellent value for money holiday, well worth the money.

Room Tip: Pay the extra premium for a scenic room, or take pot luck!
