Ardlui Holiday Home Park

We stayed in Cnap Mor a lodge which could sleep 8, positioned right on the loch.

On arrival at the park we were unsure where to check in so just pulled into the holiday park and enquired at the wardens hut. I wouldn't say we had a warm welcome there but I was pointed in the direction of the hotel to check in.

After a long wait at the reception I then had another wait for the appropriate person to come and tell us what to do next. We were then escourted down to the lodge and shown around. We were told that the heating and water would work straight away but we couldn't get any hot water. I rang the hotel and they sent someone straight down on a quad bike and sorted it out.

I can't praise the location of this lodge enough. You have a clear view of the loch and it was great to just take in the view and the tranquility of it all. It was also nice to watch the wake boarders going in and out of the marina.

On the down side the lodge was very, very worn and is in need of a revamp. The pictures on the website do not reflect the state of the lodges currently. The bedding and towels were new and clean but the carpets could do with being replaced. The sofas and chairs in the living room have seen better days and would not be great for older guests or people with back problems as they go very low when you sit on them.

The kitchen was well stocked with glassware and utensils but we needed to wash items before we used them as they didnt look clean at all. Also the worktops were sticky like they had not been cleaned properly.

I would return to this property if only for the stunning location.

We had booked a touring pitch as part of our motorhome holiday. The website makes the place look inviting, but it is not! It is very dated, and badly in need of repair. Our 'pitch' was a parking space on a tarmac carpark. The view was nice, and the location, but that's all. We didn't end up staying. What a disappointment.

4 people staying in a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom cabin right on the waterfront for a week @ xmas.
the cabin was clean, provided everything required and very warm. the cabin was @ the end of the lane/ straight down the hill from the entrance gate and on the waters edge. we had fantastic views of the loch and surrounding bens. we would stay again and if possible stay in the same cabin as we know what it offers.
as the weather was extremely windy we had problems with tv reception. the owners came in the first instance and in horrendous gales and rain went to extreme lengths to ensure everything worked correctly.

Room Tip: cabin @ bottom of entrance road on right. beautiful decor well appointed

Two minutes after my wife and I arrived, the OWNER gave my wife verbal abuse and even threatened her! His attitude was disgusting and his whole manner was even worse, especially considering he runs the place! We almost left if it wasn't for the fact we were meeting up with friends!! We stayed for two nights in the brothys - can't complain about them at all. Heated flooring which was great to keep that extra bit warm. You had to cross a busy road to get to the toilet which wasn't great at night time. The "other" staff were very welcoming, especially the Warden.
The toilets were very run down, two doors on the cubicles didn't lock and they were dirty and needed an upgrade. Same goes for the showers!
We ate on site just once - wasn't the best, my friend ordered fish and chips and the fish was very bitter, so its safe to say he didn't finish his meal!
Overall, the owner is a c*ck but his staff were lovely. The camp site layout and cleaning facility are VERY basic. There was no where to walk the dog, even though it mentioned there were paths! Unfortunately I wouldn't recommend this place!

The Timber Bothy was lovely and can't really fault that but from the description from the website of the location didn't match our expectations what so ever. Firstly you had to cross the busy A road to the grassy grounds where the other campers were and when it been raining the ground was soft, spongy and got puddley. The pitch tent campers had no respect for others on that site, so when we were trying to get to sleep at 11pm - kids, adults running around shouting screaming.

The main upsetting thing about this place were the toilets / showers. If you wanted to clean up after cooking yourself a bbq, the washing sink was in the gents toilets next to the urinals. Me and my partner choose to eat out both evenings. The toilets and showers were in such poor condition too. For example the ladies had 2 toilet doors that wouldn't lock and one was flooded and only one shower worked which wasn't brill as didn't feel clean what so ever as it looked like its never been cleaned. The gents toilets were in similar condition too.

Room Tip: Find another place to stay if want quality night sleep, decent and clean toilets and showers if you...

We stayed 4 nights in a Pew caravan in autumn and it was the loveliest caravan we have ever stopped in. Very clean, well equipped and fitted to the highest standard. The views of the Loch were breathtaking and it was wonderful to eat our breakfast, admiring the scenery. Even in November we were lucky enough to have some sunshine and were able to sit on the spacious veranda and enjoy the views. The caravan was very warm despite the time of year and we were happy to spend time there if the weather was bad. We drove up to the Drovers Inn and joined the West Highland Way,walking south towards the Loch. It's about 2 miles to the head of the loch and the views are amazing. It's a nice easy walk to do with children as we did. We drove down to Luss a couple of times which our children liked as there's a pebbly beach where they could feed the ducks and a jetty that goes out onto the loch. I also recommend taking a loch cruise as we did from Tarbet. A fantastic holiday and we'll definitely be back.

We spent 4 days in Ardlui lodges in September and we fell in love with it. The lodge is a very luxurious caravan right on Loch Lomond, waking up and being surrounded by water was just an amazing feeling. The views from our living room were incredible and unforgettable. The lodge itself is clean, has everything you possible need to cook a meal or two and has a drier and washer which was just what we needed. The living room area is amazing with all those windows and an electric fireplace we fired up every evening. The bedrooms were spacious and the bathrooms clean and the shower on the master bedroom amazing. I would highly recommend this place to anyone!

Room Tip: We were in the first lodge right on the lake! Chose that one and you can't go wrong!
