Owner description: Welcome to Loch Katrine - one of Scotland's special places. Just as special as the magnificent scenery is the famous steamship "Sir Walter Scott" which itself has been a landmark in The Trossachs for over a hundred years. Your visit is not complete without a cruise on this wonderful ship, or on "Lady of the Lake", the perfect way to experience the beauty of Loch Katrine. Perhaps you'll just want to relax with a coffee or a meal in the Brenachoile Cafe Bar, shop for a souvenir and take a stroll by the shore, or bring the family for a cycle trip?

“Bad weather but brilliant views”
Reviewed November 9, 2012

We went to on a cruise of Loch Katrine on the Steam Paddler which was fab but the wether was quite bad! However, with a cosy inside cabin the weather didn't dampen spirits and the views were spectacular! The resturant on Loch Katrine was also top class, great food and brill service!

“Great views and scenery”
Reviewed October 29, 2012 via mobile

Many visitors take to the Loch by boat to see the sights of Loch Katrine but for those healthy and fit then a nice long walk or bike ride along the loch is the best way to see the wonderful scenery that Loch Katrine has to offer.

Upon arrival you are greeted by a very large carpark (pay and display). Facilities here include a cycle hire company where you can hire anything from bikes and trailers for the younger children and right upto electric golf buggies. In addition to this you will come across a cafe here offering a very welcoming warm drink or even alcohol and food after time out walking or soaking up the views whilst taking one of many a boat trip that's on offer down the lake.

This is a spot we always visit when in the area and we certainly will continue to do so in the future

“SS Rob Roy”
Reviewed October 27, 2012

This was a fantastic 2 hour boat trip on the beautiful Loch Katrine aboard the amazing SS Rob Roy. The scenery was spectacular, the drinks on board reasonable. the commmentry was very good, interesting sights pointed out and staff very friendly and helpful. We finished it off with a hearty bowl of soup and sandwiches - didn't like the presentation of the sandwiches with the salad (minor point) but they were very fresh and good selections of fillings. Highly recommended.
