“Location Location Location”
Reviewed June 14, 2013 for a stay in May 2013

WOW!! What an amazing place! 6 of us (Grandparents, parents and children aged 8 and 11) stayed in this gorgeous, clean, beautifully decorated, warm and well equipped cottage. Views of the sea and beach from the cottage are gorgeous - and we were lucky enough to watch an otter fishing in the sea below us on 3 nights during the week - from the living room and kitchen - through binoculars which were provided! The lockable outside building was a real bonus for us as we were travelling by bike. Fab base for a cycling holiday - close to ferry when you arrive, quiet roads, careful drivers, and no massive hills! We all did 105 miles during the week. I can not recommend this cottage highly enough.

This cottage is the ideal place to go for a quiet peaceful holiday. Plenty of wildlife to see, lovely walks and good bus services.
The cottage itself is a perfect base its clean well equipped and the views from every aspect are to die for, so if you want a get away from it all this is a really good place to go

“Beautiful cottage and stunning views.”
Reviewed January 11, 2013 for a stay in April 2012

I enjoyed a weeks stay in the cottage with my sister and brother-in-law April 2012.The cottage is very clean and well looked after. Every thing you need is in the cottage down to binoculars! It is situated just out-side of Rothesay and it is a very pleasant walk taking about 20mins.There is a bus stop right opposite and the service is very good and cheap. We saw lots of wild life and seals basking in the sun on the rocks in the bay.We went on the open top Red Bus tour and the views were stunning. It has a wonderful private garden which is ideal for sunbathing or just taking in the view.
I would definately recommend this Cottage.

“Location, location, location”
Reviewed November 23, 2012 for a stay in July 2012

Had a marvellous time here at Montford Cottage, overlooking the Firth of Clyde. The cottage is in a terrific spot, direct access to the shore, close enough to Rothesay to make it walk able, far enough away that you feel the peace and tranquility of this beautiful island. The bus stops across the road from the cottage and the service is very good- we were car free for a week. The private garden is a wonderful place to soak up the views and watch the yachts and cruise liners sail past over a glass of chilled wine. Interior very comfortable and well equipped. The shower room is small but perfectly adequate. Mount Stuart House is a must see- both the grounds and house are worth the entry fee and its a lovely walk there. We have already booked for next year. Cannot recommend Montford highly enough.

“Perfect little holiday cottage with amzing views.”
Reviewed September 16, 2012 for a stay in August 2012

We stayed at Montford Cottage in August 2012. We had a fantastic week. The position of the cottage is perfect, overlooking the water from every angle. The cottage is immaculately clean and tidy and extremely well equipped with everything you could possiby need or want. It is furnished to a high standard with lots of added extras that make it that bit more special. We travelled as a family of five including three children and the cottage was easily large enough to accommodate us all comfortably.
The Isle of Bute is a beautiful island which boasts some lovely, quiet beaches , perfect for chilren. There is a abundance of wildlife habiting the island and spending an afternoon watching the seals on the beach a stones throw away from us was fantastic. There are some lovely walks with amazing views and some lovely restaraunts and tea shops. All in all the island and the cottage are perfect for a quiet, relaxing holiday with the family and we will certainly be returning again next year.
