The staff were friendly and impeccably well mannered. The food was of a very high standard - well presented with good quality ingredients. Not cheap but just right for a special treat on the final evening of our stay in Rothesay.

If you want to have a great dinner in a nice little restaurant with very friendly staff - No.29 is the best choice!

Overlooking park and close to ferry terminal at Rothesay front. Superb quality food, served from an open kitchen by clearly enthusiastic chefs. Great way to finish our day on Bute, after visiting Mount Stuart house and gardens. Remember last ferry over to Colintraive leaves about 9pm so leave time!

I was optimistic when I realised we could see the kitchen in action from the restaurant - always a good sign.

I had very tasty smoked salmon with vodka beetroot sorbet as a starter and I could have eaten it again, it was so good. For main I went for steak, always a risk, but this one was cooked just the way I like it.

The restaurant doesn't have a license but you can take your own wine in and there isn't even a corkage charge.

Its not cheap, but good food never is. I would go again.

Had an excellent good meal here, the food was very well cooked and the service was also good. The fish and chips were a delight with succulent well cooked fish in a light batter and crispy chips. The pudding was also impressive. We will definately be eating here again
