“Fascinating house!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 18, 2013

well worth the tour as a fascinating house, inside and out!

no cameras allowed inside (obviously) but take plenty of pictures of the external house and gardens

the gardens are also beautiful and you could easily spend a few hours wandering around plus a stunning beach

“Spectacular”

We were visiting with gran who turned 100 a couple of weeks ago.
All the staff were very helpful & the place was stunning! Interesting place & lots of info given on tour. Value for money & gran even got presented with a wee present, which she was delighted with, oh and she got a shot of the organ too! Great day & weather was fantastic! Carol, Cumbernauld

Mountstuart is beautifull, inside and out... Defo worth a visit, could have spent all day looking at the tapestries and amazing ceilings and decor... The history of the house is so interesting...

“Ushered In and out too quickly”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 16, 2013

Tours of Mount Stuart used to be slower; more personal, with a chance to ask questions, allowing visitors to relate to and marvel at objects which held a particular interest for them. Now we are hardly permitted to spend a bare minute in the passing. My latest visit had me hurry past lots of wonderful objects and portraits I previously had gained much information about and which had caused return trips to this wonderful place.
£11 entry for less time and less information than previously (plus considerable expense to get to Bute) makes for poor value for money. Crucially, it fails to convey the beauty and the story of the provenance and acquisition of Mount Stuart's treasures. The sixth Marquuis would have been horrified.

If you come to Bute, Mount Stuart is a must see!
It´s absolutely amazing. A mixture of a castle and a fairy tale!
