“Great food; excellent value.”
Reviewed April 8, 2014

We ate here on a Monday night at the beginning of April. Restaurant was very relaxed and friendly, doing a steady trade offering a wide range of home-cooked dishes. We had the oriental salmon with salad and new potatoes and the haggis stuffed chicken with vegetables and chips - couldn't manage a desert! Flavours were excellent and portions extremely generous and incredibly good value at less than £25 for 2, including wine.

The Waterfront is closed on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings otherwise we would have been back like a shot! Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

“A must visit ”
Reviewed March 29, 2014 via mobile

We visited as a family of four this week, a warm welcome on a cold blustery night was a good start. The lady running front of house could not be more cheerful or charming and our food was first class, top marks to the chef. Every dish was a generous portion using fresh produce, my seafood mornay was superb, giving a homely feel and no airs of fine dining.

“Our first choice on Bute, Everytime”
Reviewed February 15, 2014

We visit The Waterfront Bistro on each visit to Bute that we have (never enough visits!). We actively drive off the ferry and check to see if it is open as that allows us to plan the rest of our trip.
Always warm, friendly and smiling, the service is great. Food is kept simple and always find the portions are mighty fine.

My wife always has the Salmon, my son always wants a burger or fish and I cannot help but have the local beef or venison when i am in.
They stock Loch Fyne Ales also.

Looking forward to our next visit very soon.
Keep up the good work, as it is very much appreciated.

“Really good food, but why isn't it open more?”
Reviewed January 22, 2014

Couldn't fault the food, but the seemingly erratic opening hours meant I couldn't visit when I wanted. I would recommend eating here, it is one of the best options on the island, but make sure you've a reservation first.

Hello, thank you for taking the time to review our Bistro. Perhaps your visit was midweek? We're open from 5:30 to 9pm every evening except Tuesday & Wednesday, from February to Christmas. We've kept to these times for several years now.

We hope you will come in & enjoy a meal the next time you're over.
