I would like to thank Geoff and Carol for a lovely stay in their gorgeous home, this is truely a hidden Gem! The home cooked breakfasts were a treat and there was always plenty to eat and drink!
If you like a super size bed then tanglewood is for you! The rooms are stunning with plenty of room both in the bedroom and bathroom areas.
Tanglewood is located approx 1hr 20 minute drive from Fort William and 2hr 30 from Inverness so access to Ben Nevis and Loch Ness are well within reach!
As per the last comments on Tanglewood we can also confirm there is no locks on the bedroom doors, however there was not one doubt of trust. Carol and geoff are full of advice and always happy to help!
We will be back next year and would highly reccomend to everyone!

We are just back from Tanglewood and wanted to add our quick "share" to the reviews. The house and rooms are stunning. The surroundings are the most peaceful and relaxing ever.Birds and a wee river in the back garden are the only sounds at night. Delicious breakfast with fresh ingredients. Just pure luxury.
Geoff and Carol are competent and helpful owners.
The only possible inconvinience - the rooms don't have the door locks, which gives a certain lack of privacy. Sometimes they are left half-opened in your absense.
Overall a very nice expierence. Highly recommended. We certainly will be back.

Couldn't ask for a better setting to get married in. Hospitality was perfect and weather was amazing. We'd really like to thank Carol and Jeff for going out of their way to make our Wedding Day so special by allowing us to have our wedding ceremony at Tanglewood Lodge.
We would highly recommend Tanglewood Lodge to all of our family and friends. Can't wait to return.

This lovely home is quite outstanding for a unique and extremely comfortable stay. Here is a dwelling integrated cleverly into the beautiful natural woodland of the Nant Valley with wonderful views all round. The "Great Room" has spectacular views over the River and woodlands beyond and this experience is well worth the visit. Given the firm commitment of the owners to make a serious contribution to energy saving, in the form of a Ground Source Heat Pump and other interesting services, the house is most attractive to anyone interested in home development.
The welcome from Geoff and Carol is perfectly balanced and most generous. The rooms are large, comfortable and with luxury en-suite facilities. The house is quiet and serene and very quiet at night!
The breakfast is comprehensive and a wide choice is offered. The best breakfast we have eaten anywhere in our world travels.
We thoroughly recommend this lovely home and please make it more than one night. The area all around demands lots of time for exploration and walking. Local food is available for dinners with good service and all of decent quality.

Just returned from a fantastic couple of days at Tanglewood Lodge. Accommodation is absolutely first class. Beautiful location and spotlessly clean. Lovely bedroom and bathroom with stunning views. Hosts could not have been more welcoming and hospitable...a fantastic place to see in the new year. Have no reservations whatsoever in recommending this to others, and will certainly return in the future.

Great hospitality and the house is amazing. Carol and Geoff take great pride in telling of their exploits whilst building their 'green' house. The location is superb with regular visits by red squirrels and a variety of birds. Our room was spacious and very comfortable with an excellent shower and a good choice of breakfast. Midge screens at the windows mean fresh air without the wee beasties. Good inexpensive and quiet 9 hole golf course nearby and Geoff will give lots of advice on walking in the area. Oban is 25 minutes drive away with access to ferries to the islands or just a walk on the prom.

Tanglewood Lodge is an incredible, recently-built wooden lodge in a fantastic setting. It is the kind of house you only see on TV. There are stunning views from various angles in the house, over woodland and mountains. The interior is built to make the most of these views.

We drove up to the house over a very gravelly track, which was a bit difficult for our little car, but well worth it. On arrival, Carol made us feel welcome with a large pot of tea and home made cake, which we enjoyed on the fantastic balcony overlooking the garden and the woodland. We could hear a cuckoo in the trees nearby. Our room was luxurious to say the least. It was probably as big as the whole ground floor of our house! Large sliding doors opened on to our own balcony with table and chairs, plus a couple of resident swallows nesting in the eaves. The balcony looked out on to the mountains. A house was being built nearby, but this wasn't intrusive at all and could easily be ignored with all the wonderful views to look at. (I'm even pretty sure I saw some bison on the hill across the road one evening.) We had the hugest , most comfortable bed I'd ever seen and it was made up beautifully with lavish quilt, cushions etc. There was plenty of storage space and a seating area with coffee table - all brand new furniture. There was also a flat screen TV with Sky freeview. The bathroom was fitted out perfectly with a large shower cubicle, great shower, huge sink etc. The attention to detail was evident everywhere.

Downstairs, breakfast was served in the main living area, where we enjoyed the full view from the glass front of the house. There was a wide choice for breakfast, including fresh or dried fruit salad, natural yoghurt, smoked salmon and scrambled egg, kippers, traditional cooked breakfast, cereals etc. We really felt like we were being spoiled, as Carol and Geoff looked after us perfectly. They were also happy to give advice on the area, such as dining or places to visit, which was most helpful. As there are only two guest rooms, there is a really nice homely atmosphere to the place.

The house has been built to be energy efficient and was built using sustainable wood etc. Carol Gives advice when you first arrive on how to best use the facilities such as the shower, as the water and the house are heated from unerground piping taking heat from the earth. Midges can be a problem, but all windows have screens to stop them coming in.

I can't stress enough how luxurious and relaxing this place is and how welcome Carol and Geoff make you feel. If you have the chance, you must stay here. It is a privilege to be able to experience this wonderful house.
