The restaurant was clean and very pleasant, the staff were helpful and friendly. The food was well presented and of a good standard.

My mother has mobility problems and the General Manager and his team looked after us extremely well.

We will definitely return and would recommend the Taynuilt hotel for dining.

My wife is from taynuilt (we live in Yorkshire) we recently got married nearby. We chose to stay at the taynuilt hotel on the evening after our wedding. We happened to have eaten at the hotel a couple of days before and mentioned that we were due to get married and that we had booked a room for the Sunday. On arrival on the Sunday we checked in and a staff member brought us complimentary prosecco to our room - a lovely gesture.

We stayed in room 3 which has a lovely four poster bed.

We have eaten at this hotel many times in recent years and both consider the decor of the place, food quality and approach of the staff are great.

We stayed for one night over the Bank Holiday weekend.
The Hotel is nice and 'rustic', although some might suggest it's a bit dated. The staff were friendly and accommodating throughout our stay with the guy on reception particularly affable.
The room was comfortable with a good sized en-suite, (although the shower head wouldn't stay raised so I had to crouch to wash my hair), and all clean enough.
The Dinner menu was quite limited, that said the food was very good indeed, (the beef pie looked amazing), the Sticky Toffee pudding was apparently the best my wife had ever had.
Depending where your room is located there can be a fair bit of noise from the lounge bar which forms part of the hotel, our room was directly above and there was a fair noise emanating from the locals until closing time.
Only criticism I would make is that the service was pretty slow at times, we waited around 20 minutes between main course and being asked what we wanted for dessert in the evening.
At breakfast we were greeted again by the guy from reception who took our orders for beverages, we then were sat for 20 minutes before had to chase up our coffee and to have our breakfast orders taken, (where we weren't asked by the young girl how we'd like our eggs), then another 30 minutes to be served with our breakfasts, by which time it was considerably over-cooked. This was a real shame as it took the shine off a pleasant enough stay.

Overall, a nice Olde Worlde feel to the place, very nice food with friendly staff.
Just a shame about the service!

What a great hotel to stay in. We recently stayed here for 3 days and had a wonderful time. Food great and staff very friendly. Great room( Loch Fyne ) and great selection of whiskies and real ale which I love. Would visit again and highly recommend.

We stayed here on an itison deal for DBB. The hotel is very old, rooms are a little tired but very clean and comfortable. Although informed of the ancient plumbing we feel confident that the plumbing system/ toilet flush "racket" could certainly be brought up to date.
Although the service for dinner was a little slow, we almost changed our minds to have dessert as no one came to take our order for around 20 minutes after getting the menu, it was definitely worth the wait; the sticky toffee pudding was to die for. All the food for dinner was very good and we were pleased that with the deal we had the hotel were very flexible to accommodate exactly what we wanted with our choice of wine.
Unfortunately breakfast, on the other hand, was just short of disastrous! Our order was taken, fine. Although we did think it odd that there were additional choices charged at an extra £5 which would be just as cheap to source as the full Scottish, why would you? Priced to put people off?
After another 20 minutes passed I asked the waitress if I could now have my coffee (I managed to pin her down while she was getting other late drinks and toast for another table who arrived for breakfast before us)
Eventually our breakfast arrived extremely over cooked/ dried out 30 after a half hour wait.
Service was very below par, although this may well have been a one-off the restaurant was only half full and it doesn't encourage one to return anytime soon, not even for that sticky toffee pudding!

We visited the Taynuilt hotel for our first Scottish Holiday and we had the most amazing time.. The owners were fantastic and couldn't have been more friendly or helpful.. I suffered an abscess whilst we were there and was given a huge amount of help with local dentists and pain relief!
The atmosphere was wonderful and the food was superb!!
I highly recommend the Rib eye steak! Thank you to everyone who made our stay so memorable.. Katie Millie and Noah

The welcome we received carried on during our stay. All staff were amazing .. nothing too much trouble. The room was very comfortable. Food was great value for money. Bar very cosy. Within easy reach of Oban. Lovely walks from the hotel to the local lochs.

Room Tip: We had a twin room top floor.... very spacious.... Room 9
