Was on our list of possible places to visit on a rainy day. As it happened it was fine and dry.
Staff are very friendly and the small exhibition is very informative.
The small cafe serves good food and you will find it impossible to leave without purchasing some of the produce.
The nature trails around the smokery are good too. We both enjoyed the rope swings!

“Great place to visit.”
Reviewed June 26, 2014

There is a well laid out exhibition costing £2.50 per person entry. It's very informative and gives a good detailed history of the fish smoking industry in the area, along with details of how the fish are smoked at Inverawe.
There is a wonderful shop which incorporates a very nice cafe serving lovely food. The staff are helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble.
Leaving your car in the car park there is a walk along the banks of the River Awe, or a walk down to Loch Etive.
I would highly recommend a visit, a dry day is best if you want to take one of the walks, but it's an ideal destination in the rain if you just want to visit the exhibition and get a bite to eat, and of course purchase some of the wonderful produce, which all freezes for up to three months.

“Nice find”
Reviewed June 25, 2014

This is a nice little spot to drop in and have a coffee and a bit of lunch and sample the delights of the smokehouse. Nice little shop selling everything smoked that you could wish for, We got some Smokies/Salmon and Smoked Trout Pate, all delicious.

“Beautiful smoked salmon”
Reviewed June 24, 2014

A great place to spend a few hours away from it all. We enjoyed a delicious filling lunch which of course sampled the beautiful smoked salmon. The staff were so helpful and friendly, perfect ambassadors for the front of house pointing out an after lunch walk for us and assisting with our purchases before we left. Since returning from holiday, I have to say the salmon was fabulous and if ever we find ourselves in the area again we are sure to visit again. Would definitely recommend.
Thank you for your kind hospitality.

“Lunch and salmon to take home”
Reviewed June 11, 2014

The smokehouse is down a single track road but well worth the foray off the main road, The menu, food and service are all excellent and we thought the lunch good value and promptly served. Our waitress was very helpful in showing us a walk on a map supplied by the smokehouse, Many Thanks for a short but great visit
