“Amazing Hospitality”

My husband & I stayed at the Brander Lodge in April 2011. Right from the time we arrived, to the day we left David Keats & his team provided everything we needed, from laundry to meals. Their knowledge of the area is fantastic, we did a couple of day trips to Oban & Fort William & Dave was able to provide some great tips. The food is great, as is the service. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is wanting to stay in a place that is a wee bit like home.

Ten months since my last stay at Brander Lodge and the new owners have made some tremendous renovations to a beautiful hotel that had previously got a little tired and run-down. What a difference in ten months! I am sure you will not be disappointed, lovely clean rooms and new beds that are so comfortable. Food, as last time was excellent and the new restaurant menu offers a wonderful selection on all three courses. A warm and friendly welcome makes you feel 'so much at home' in this family run hotel. Great location, surrounded by beautful hills and river at bottom of the garden and is only a short run into Oban. Their plans for further improvements and additions sound exciting and I am very much looking forward to my next visit.

Brander Lodge is a hotel with that added extra, the most friendly and inviting atmosphere you could ever ask for. I am sure becoming friends with the owners and staff is not compulsory, but you will have a hard job trying not to.
I have returned from my 2 night stay, with wonderful memories, not only of my niece's wedding,(also at the Brander), but of my stay in general.
The hotel, recently under new management, is tastefully refurbished in a way that makes you relaxed and totally at ease.
The spacious and bright lounge contains a huge selection of toys, games, books and DVD's to cater for children of all ages, which kept my 2 year old grandson happy throughout our stay.
Adults were not forgotten, with lots of books and DVD's and the use of the hotels laptops for those spare moments.
The grounds, set in the backdrop of Scotland's lush greener were beautiful and well maintained and also contained some outdoor toys to keep your young ones amused.
Our bedrooms were clean, with pristine bedding and towels, the most comfortable mattress and contained all the little extras you expect in a hotel room.
On the day of the wedding everyone worked tirelessly to the smooth running and success of the special day. The dinning room was decorated to prefection, cheerful and unflustered staff were constantly at hand, to tend to any little need.
The wedding breakfast was plentiful and beautifully presented, using locally sourced produce, and cooked to perfection, even after a 'slight delay' in the meal timetable, caused by the wedding party ourselves.
All the other meals during our stay were excellent, I particularly loved the breakfasts which contained an extensive continental style menu, as well as the traditional scottish cooked breakfast. Tea and coffee were also available throughout the day.
I can't recommend this hotel highly enough, and will certainly be back again in the future.

We stayed at the Brander Lodge for one night while cycling from Campbeltown to Oban on the Sustrans route 78. We had 4 rooms for our party of 8. We received a lovely welcome and were shown around on the way to our rooms. The hotel is clearly being upgraded with new seating in the lounge area and a lovely comfortable dining room, the rooms were bright and airy with large windows and brand new curtains and carpets and bright white bedding. Unfortunately there was no WiFi which I would suggest the owners address, despite that the room TV's and TV reception were the best we had had all week during our holiday. The bathrooms remain outdated but Rome wasn't built in a day! Throughout the service was friendly and attentive. Guests can choose to eat their meal in the bar area with flat screen TV or the dining room, the menu is standard bar food but cooked and presented very well. There are large gardens with lawn where the kids are safe to play and the pool table and darts board was enjoyed by our older kids. Breakfast was the usual cooked affair. My niece didn't fancy anything cooked so it was a lovely touch to offer her pancakes and as it was my nephew's birthday he was brought a pancake with happy birthday candles! I have never received such individual attention at any other hotel. If you are looking for 3* accommodation near Oban you can't go wrong with the Brander Lodge and the owners who bought the hotel last June deserve every success for trying so hard.

We only stayed one night here as we were attending a wedding at another nearby hotel. We arrived and were shown to our room which was immaculate and had everything we needed. We were very lucky to be given a lift (!) to our other destination which meant all our party could enjoy a glass or two of champagne and we were then picked up again at 12am!! Thankyou very much!
Breakfast time was flexible - lots of food available and the staff tried to make sure you got what you wanted to eat - coffee was a little weak though. Also enjoyed the fact there was Marmite to have with our toast!
Overall, lovely scenery, quiet hotel, comfy beds, friendly welcoming staff, hearty breakfasts - we would definitely go back!!!
