The Ariundle Centre has the feeling of a village hall with a weaving centre attached. The restaurant may have no pretensions to fine dining but on a rainy evening we wouldn't have wanted to be anywhere else. The staff were so welcoming and happy for us to help ourselves to drinks from the fridge while they got on with early evening preparations. From the short hand-written menu I chose lamb stew, which came with potato and sauteed onion, spicy cauliflower and mashed swede; on paper an eclectic combination but a really delicious plate of home-cooked food. Lovely place.
