“Fantastic - you must give it a go.”
Reviewed July 13, 2012

We were staying in the area and wanted somewhere for dinner. I had seen a review for this restaurant so we decided to try it and I am so pleased we did as the food was amazing.

We were given a small hand written menu with about 3 or 4 choices for each course. They do not have a drinks menu but if you ask for beer or wine, they bring it to show you what they have available. Drinks as well as the food were very reasonably priced and the service from the young waitress was second to none.

I really could not recommend this place enough. Ok it may look a little basic, but do not be fooled, the food is wonderful. Oh and one tip, if they have the sweet potato and chilli soup on the menu have it, its worth the visit on its own.

“A woodland gem”
Reviewed June 21, 2012

Recently renewed our acquaintance with Strontian's number one dining experience (according to Trip Advisor). Dined for EIGHT consecutive nights and experienced a varied menu, prepared and cooked to a high standard,
The service is always friendly and the atmosphere could not be more relaxed - though this will not suit those in a hurry - but who wants to hurry when you are staying in one of the most beautiful parts of the United Kingdom!!
The food is freshly prepared using locally sourced ingredients and Kate always tries to prepare a menu that is 'just a little bit different'

“Great homemade food and excellent value”
Reviewed June 17, 2012

In a part of Scotland where places to eat are sparsely dotted around, the Ariundle Centre is a real gem. It is a must on all our trips to that most beautiful part of the world. We have always been served delicious, homemade food - cooked dishes and home baking - and have been warmly greeted by the owner. It's good value, too, with, for example, decent portions of homebaking that put the cost and quality of that served by the big coffee chains to shame. Yes, service can be a bit slow, but the pace just seems in keeping with the relaxing, slowed down nature of the remote west coast. So, turn off the phone, shut down your notebook and take in the beautiful surroundings and tasty food as you simply ... relax.

“Disappointed”
Reviewed May 15, 2012

After having read reviews and seen this place advertised, we decided to try it for lunch. I was surprised that there was no-one to greet us on arrival and, having made our way round to the serving counter, we stood and waited for what seemed like ages before either of the two staff spoke to us. I got the impression that they were rushed off their feet, despite the fact that only three tables were occupied. Having placed an order, we had a long wait before food and drinks arrived; another couple got fed up with waiting and decided to leave - which we may well have done if we hadn't been so hungry after a long drive!

The food wasn't very appetising when it did arrive (eg toasted sandwich burnt to a crisp). Although the tea in china cups was fine.

All in all, a disappointing experience, especially compared to the service we received in other cafes and restaurants in the area.
