This place is truly wonderful - the setting, the hotel, food and staff - all make for an extraordinary stay. For us, this time only one night, it is magical. What is brilliant is that whether you are staying for one night or longer the welcome and attention are the same.
Philip and his team are very professional - polite, kind and with a sense of humour that so enhances the stay. The rooms and bathrooms are so clean and comfortable - the bed is to die for. The food is amazing, so beautifully presented and served and tastes delicious - it has taken on the personality of the chef.

There is only one thing better than visiting Kilcamb and that is returning again for as you drive or walk down that steep driveway you physically feel all stress draining away from you and feel that here 'all will be right with the world'!

Kilcamb Lodge Hotel sits on the shore of Loch Sunart in 22 acres of wild flower meadow and woodland.Otters and red deer visit regularly and the beauty of the area offers unsurpassed views, walks and beaches.Mull,Skye and the Trenish Isles are all highly accessible from the hotel and we managed a couple of day trips which were quite unforgettable,in particular the Puffins on Staffa and the freshest seafood lunch in Cafe Fish,Tobermory overlooking the harbour-- would highly recommend both!

The beautifully appointed rooms at the hotel, have lovely comfy king beds with many thoughtful extras like guest umbrellas, bath robes and luxury toiletries. We particulary liked the chilled ice water provided on arrival to our room.Ours overlooked Loch Sunart and the mountains.Sunrise was a sight to behold as it peeked over the mountain opposite our window and bathed the Loch with colours of red and gold.

Reception rooms exude style, comfort and quality and that same quality is echoed in the staff and the excellent service they provide, headed by the General Manager Phillip Fleming. There is a genuine ethos of guest care at Kilcamb Lodge which is evident from the moment you walk through the door.Nothing is too much trouble and the staff could not have been more friendly and professional.

The restaurant at Kilcamb delivers high standards in terms of the food, ambiance and the service.Dinner comprises of several delicious courses prepared with a high degree of skill and flair and each night the dinning experience was eagerly anticipated as the daily changing menu was to be found in our room when we returned from our adventures.Gourmet nights on Wensdays and Saturdays are a highlight. We particularly enjoyed the fresh natural flavours of the food, which were a strong feature.Nothing over seasoned allowing the combinations, natural flavours and freshness of the ingredients to dominate. The chef is only 28 years old but shows a culinary depth and sophistication, which belies his youth.

Kilcamb Lodge has managed to achieve that special blend of charm, uniqueness, quality and professional service where guests immedediately feel transported out of the commonplace and into the rare. And there is a refreshing lack of the pretence that so often accompanies such quality establishments.

what a find -- we shall be returning in September and can,t wait.

Outstanding peaceful location on the edge of the loch, beautiful views, lovely gardens and walks.Garden room was very clean and comfortable, decor was in keeping with the rest of the hotel, fabulous. The breakfast was yummy! with plenty of choice. We did not try the evening meal sadly it was too costly for us but I am sure that it would have been exceptional.Philip the hotel manager was there to welome you and made you feel that nothing was too much trouble. All the staff were extremely courteous and a sheer pleasure to meet.

We stayed at this hotel for one night and had a lovely time. Stayed in a standard double which was small but suited us fine. The evening meal was a delight and well worth the money, wine was reasonably priced and the service was excellent!

Would recomend this to anyone looking for a quiet retreat with friendly staff who have an excellent attention to detail.

This was the first night of a two week tour of the highlands and islands with our 21 month old labradoodle in tow.My wife and are well travelled and used to the very best, but managing to find quality dog friendly hotels is not easy.To some hotels dog friendly might mean inferior rooms and a list of dos and dont's.Our TOP dog hotel so far has to be Ston Easton but Kilcamb had the right balance, in fact I would say almost perfect. and it pushed Ston Easton very close.
Kilcamb made all of us feel very welcome from the start with treats in the room , dog mats and towels etc.The room was a decent size, nice touches as per other reviews, with an entrance to a rear staircase to the grounds, perfect for an early morning or late evening sniff outside.
Other reviews have covered the location, fantastic place for walks with or without dog, it really is very beautiful.
The evening meal was OK, not stunning.Fresh ingredients, nicely presented and served by very friendly mainly eastern european staff (why do they do this so much better than we can?)let down by poor seasoning, the kitchen should taste the food before it sends it out.Short wine list with very reasonable pricing.Great breakfast the next day.
We would go back without hesitation.
