This was a last minute romantic getaway for my fiancee and I and it most certainly did not disappoint, we also had our wee dog with us and I could not rate them highly enough for the attention to detail right down to the dog bed and snacks which were left on arrival.

The food was exquisite the restaurant was beautiful and both evenings we experienced food 'to die for'. We had the tasting menu one of the evening complete with wine for each course which I felt was an excellent way to experience the best that local produce had to offer..... hats off to the chef we were very impressed.

Only complaint would be the shower running hot and cold but that was completely forgiven as a minor detail. Bed was extremely comfortable. we will be back

Room Tip: Room 11 was a little noisy as the the door to the garden where the dog owners used was right at our...

This was an excellent place to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We had a lovely welcome and were shown to our suite overlooking the loch. We had stayed in it before and it was lovely to return and find such a high standard of luxury. Little touches made it special, like the home-made shortbread biscuits.
There was a wide range of choices on the evening menu - starting with the Amuse Bouche and finishing with the petit fours, as ever the food was excellent. How wonderful to share an special dinner overlooking Loch Sunart in the intimate dining room. A lovely extra touch was when the petit fours arrived and the chef had piped "Happy Anniversary" in chocolate. On return to our room the bed linen had been turned down, the curtains drawn and soft lighting switched on.

Breakfast was again a treat and we enjoyed the mango sorbet in the fresh fruit starter, the freshly baked croissant and the excellent choice for the cooked options.

All in all another fantastic stay here, indeed it is a real treat to "retreat" here and be wonderfully pampered.

Room Tip: All rooms are wonderful, but a loch view room is strongly advised.

A superb 3 night stay. Our suite overlooking the loch was most comfortable complemented by the new bathroom. Food was exceptional including the newly introduced tasting menu - many highlights accompanied by perfectly matched wines. The a la carte was also of a very high standard providing a nice balance of portion sizes across a total of 7 courses including amuse bouche and petit fours. Wine by the glass and half bottles were also available. Excellent choice of dishes at breakfast. Of course the setting of the hotel and the surrounding countryside are stunning but do allow plenty of time to journey along the single track roads of Ardnamurchan. Such a pleasant relaxed atmosphere at Kilcamb - the staff were charming and friendly - this aspect can make such a difference to a stay. Can't wait to return.

Room Tip: Any of the rooms at the front of the hotel provide lovely views across the loch.

My wife and I ventured over to the west coast for a couple of days. Our final stay was the Kilcamb Lodge Hotel, which was a treat to ourselves.

We travelled up by car from Oban, via Glencoe, in constant rain which did spoil our journey as we did not see the best of the scenery. Thankfully, within 5 minutes of departing the Corran ferry heading towards the hotel, the sun came out. Thereafter, we were in awe of the beautiful scenery as we drove towards the hotel.

On arrival at the hotel we were absolutely delighted with the stunning location the hotel holds - overlooking Loch Sunart. The Lodge is also a beautiful old building. The public rooms are all relaxing; enhancing the overall tranquillity of the hotel. We had a room with a balcony that overlooks the loch - not the largest balcony I have ever had, but the 2 of us were able to sit out and enjoy the sunshine and views. The room itself was large and well appointed.

As the weather and views were so good; before dinner we had a couple of drinks outside at one of the tables located by the entrance. We were served some tasty canapes before dinner, which went down well with our pre-dinner drinks.

Then in for dinner. All 5 courses were excellent and my wife and I were absolutely full afterwards. No one to blame but ourselves as we could not stop eating the various dishes put in front of us.

We then had coffee and petit fours in one of the lounges.

Breakfast was as good as dinner with several choices which did not disappoint.

After breakfast we had a walk along the loch. I cannot state how beautiful this part of the country is and the hotel is worth a visit solely for the walks and views.

Throughout, all the staff were friendly and helpful and I could not criticise them in any way. A testament to the hotel and surroundings.

Will I return? Absolutely. My wife and I have travelled throughout the world and I have to say it has to be one the best we have stayed at.

Probably the best of the 10 3 to 5 stars AA hotels we stayed in Scotland this summer. We had a big room with sea view in the old building, with a brand new bathroom. Service was great, food excellent, and the view and calm are just incredible, even according to scottish standards!
