A converted old cinema in Lochgilphead provides good value B&B accomodation if you want or have to stay in the Lochgilphead area. Located near the centre of the town.

I had large nicely decorated twin en suite room for £35 B&B which was very good value. Nice bathroom. Nice breakfast. Friendly hosts. Car park.

Free wifi although the signal comes & goes. No mobile phone reception in the room so you have to walk around the town a bit to get a reception.

My only slight gripe is that the bed was not the most comfortable I have been in. I could feel the pattern of the springs in mattress - but I managed.

Not a lot to do in Lochgilphead at night in the winter - you have to look quite hard to find somewhere to eat within walking distance. I found a small Indian take away/restaurant which just about sufficed - I was the only sit in customer.

This was booked for me from work. The prospect of a 3 star B&B was not enticing but Jim and Ele run an excellent establishment; large clean comfortable rooms with lots of extras, wonderful breakfast, friendly service, and within a minutes walk of the town centre.
I would stay there again on business or pleasure trips and recommend it to everyone.

This excellent B&B is more like a hotel, as it consists of a long wide corridor with rooms on each side, all on the ground floor, and a bright breakfast room at the front of the building beside the reception desk. The owners' seem to live on the premises, upstairs from the guest rooms, nice to know they are always around.

I was impressed by the generous size of the room, and how they had covered every eventuality. There was a hairdryer on the wall by the very handy dressing table, a luggage space under a side unit where they had thoughtfully provided a tray with two wine glasses and a corkscrew. There were enough tea, coffee and hot chocolate sachets for us to indulge ourselves then fill our flasks the next morning. There was a comfortable armchair in the room and a portable tv'/dvd player with excellent reception. The wifi was immediately accessible on my laptop and at a decent speed too. The bed was comfortable, with good quality bedding and decent pillows.

The bathroom was spacious enough, shiny clean, with a very generous width bath which was easy to get in and out of, and a good shower. There were lovely toiletries provided on the roomy vanity unit where there was plenty of room to spread out my things. The towels were sparkling white and plenty were provided.

Breakfast was tasty and plentiful, and we were offered more tea/coffee. The owners were helpful, polite and friendly but not overly familiar, just the perfect mix. This definitely is more a hotel than a B&B given all the things provided, we had a very comfortable and relaxing night's stay.

With regard to the person complaining about not being able to smoke outside the front door, or hanging out of a bedroom window - It's really not nice for non-smokers to walk through a fog of cigarette smoke so Im glad that smoking outside the front door is discouraged. Also, smoking out a window would mean the smoke rising up to the owner's' living quarters. No Smoking means no smoking, and Im glad! :)
